I have a 60/40 liquid at 6mg that I want to make 80VG. I understand the nicotine content will drop and so will the flavor impact. I have ejuice me up calculator but without knowing how many ml I want as an end result I can't determine how much to add. Any help would be appreciated
Here is what I have so far let me know if I'm even close lol
12.6ml of the original 60/40 juice
17.4ml of VG
Is this right to have an 80vg/20 end result?
How much of the 60/40 juice do you have to start with, and is that 60%PG/40%VG or the other way around? Let's try an example and see if that helps:
Let's say you have 15ml of 60% PG / 40% VG. Since we'll be adding only VG, the amount of PG remains the same in the finished product as it is to begin with. Here we have something that's the same both before and after -- that means we can make an equation. 60% of 15ml (the amount of PG in the starting juice) is equal to 20% of how much (the amount of PG in the desired final product)? So, in algebraic notation, that looks like this:
.6 * 15 = .2 *
x
This is why we did all those word problems back in high school. Now, we have just turned a real-world problem into a "solve for
x" type equation that can be answered simply as follows:
x * .2 = 15 * .6
x * .2 = 9
(
x * .2) / .2 = (9) / .2
x = 9 / .2
x = 45
So with 15ml of 60% PG liquid, there are 9ml of PG and, by process of elimination, 6mg (40%) of VG. That same 9ml of PG is also
20% (the desired target amount) of a liquid if there are 45ml of that liquid in total. In order to reach that total, we simply add 30ml of VG to the 15ml of liquid that we started with.
Next, we must check our work.
Is 9ml equal to 20% of 45? Yes, .2 * 45 = 9, so the remaining 36ml or 80% is the VG content. This is of course all ignoring the Nic and flavoring percentages but without knowing how those factor in to the initial 60/40, then we can't know how they'll figure in the result, either.
Hopefully this will give you the tools you need to find the answer on your own but if you're still having trouble, go ahead and post the numbers you are working with and I or someone else will help you out.
