Hey Y'all.

I origionally bought an 808 at a mall kiosk and prefilled carts, thinking that each cart was equal to 2-3 packs of cigs (what I was told by the person who worked there). It is so wrong that she felt comfortable lying to me like that. I know that I should have done my homework first, but it still irritates me.

I am now using an ego-T with a 2ohm Boge cartomizer, which I believe gives a vape of around 6.5ish. I have read that that is the "sweet spot" for a lot of vapers. I am using 24mg 70/30, but am barely feeling the TH. I ordered some 36mg 80/20 hoping that I will get more TH and not have to feel the need to chain-vape to keep off the cigs. I used to roll my own American Spirit Organic, and was quite the smoker, smoking my cigs fast and frequently.

I am proud of myself for keeping away from the cancer sticks. Cigs actually taste gross to me now! Some of the e-liquids that I liked at first are starting to taste gross as well. Now, I wish I hadn't thought that they were so great and bought such large bottles. I had wanted that "tobacco taste", like I had been used to inhailing. I found it bizzare that people would smoke sweet or fruity flavors. Now I understand. I will be buying smaller bottles from now on untill my taste buds have recovered from my 25 years as a smoker.

The 36mg 80/20 ordered were: "Exotic Blend" (30ml) and "Cigar" (10ml) from Highbrow Vapors.
Now, I am concerned that I might not like them. Any Ideas on how to make them less tobacco-like? I am not ready for super sweet or fruity yet.

I find I like "clove" now. What flavors, other than clove, might work well to mix with tobacco flavor?

I have some Hangsen "Winson" which is tasting like ashes to me now. Any one else have that same taste
sensation?

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Hi Beoux.
I'm not an experienced vaper. It's just been a little over two weeks for me, but I AM a huge reader and lurker :)

Not sure if you're a drinker, but you could try getting some whiskey or other 'drink' flavors to mix with your tobacco flavors which should cut down on the heavy tobacco taste. Not sure if you like cinnamon, but that usually goes well with tobacco flavors even though it can be a little harsh for some folks. You could also look into cutting your e-liquid with a few drops of VG/PG which would serve to thin the flavor a bit. Finally, if you think of the foods/beverages you enjoyed eating/drinking while you smoked and tried adding those flavor juices, it would probably be OK since your taste buds are already accustomed to those mixtures.

I've also read that some folks (even non-menthol smokers) like a bit of menthol flavoring which can add some TH...nothing overpowering, just a few drops in your big bottle.

The only other thing I've seen mentioned often is to try cutting back on the nic level.

Hope some of this helps! I'm sure you'll get more 'experienced' answers pretty quickly.

OOOH, almost forgot. When you start trying the sweet/fruity flavors, I'd suggest starting with 'strong' flavors (french cheesecake, lemon, etc) since your tastebuds are still recovering and probably won't appreciate more nuanced flavors.

Alien visions makes one called Boba's Bounty. It's a wonderful tobacco that tastes like a mild nut and vanilla ish undertone. It's my every day vape. Avejuice.com. Another good is gorilla juice. A mild tobacco with undertones of banana. Wife swears by their cheesecake. It can go on and on. Why I like is they offer these in 100% VG. I get headaches from too much PG.

36 is a fairly high number. I have been a smoker for on and off 20 years. Been vaping since dec 2010. I vape the 18 in Boba's and basically started there. I did try 24 but felt it too high. I'd love to drop to 12 some day. I wouldn't buy many large bottles of 36 or anything until you first find the flavor and second find your sweet strength.

The one thing about 808s is that it's a "mild" battery. Wife and I started with 808 but nothing ever satisfied us fully. Kind of like you seeking more. We stitched to the ego battery, a 501 connect. Today we have the ego twist and provari. The ego twist allows you to adjust the voltage. Variable voltage. This vv setup I find my sweet spot to be at 4-4.3v depending on flavor. It's a arry for us now that provaris are our main setup.

Good luck. You'll get there. This is all that worked for us and all we went through.

Hi JJ.
I adore cinnamon! I have read that it deteriorates some of the cartomizers though. Is it the clear ones exclusively?
I can see liking a lemon/tobacco mix. I'm not much of a liquor drinker, when I do I enjoy a gin and tonic with lots of lime. I'll look around for a juniper flovor and a lime flavor.

Do you know if there is a chart on this site somwhere that would tell me how much e-liquid ( and what strengths) to add to a 36mg strengh in order to change the flavor and gradually lower the mgs? I don't want to stay at 36mg forever!

It doesn't affect TH. that's NIC level. What it does do is a smoother warmer vape. It's not quite as harsh. Doesn't "tickle or grab" the back of your throat. It glides down smooth while using the same TH. BUT, from what we went through, there is a large difference for the low mah 808 and the larger mah 501s. It'll appear different. Taste diff.

you can add pg, vg, or mix(depending on what you like) to lower mgs. for example if you want 24, mix 2/3 of your 36mg, and 1/3 of your pg(or what u like), if you want 18mg, mix 1/2 of your 36mg and 1/2 your pg, for 12mg, 1/3 of your 36mg and 2/3 pg. be aware that doing this will also lower your flavor

I can't answer to the rate of deterioration for the cinnamon. I was thinking along the lines of adding a few drops to your tobacco flavoring which should limit both the tobacco taste and how detrimental the addition is to your cartos.

Here's what I would try. When you order the cinnamon (or other flavorings you want to add) get 4-5 small empty bottles too. Use the little bottles to do your own mixing, adding the flavors you want to use to 'cut' the tobacco liquid sparingly. It'll be a bit like being your own scientist! Also you can order your flavorings in a lesser nic strength (maybe 18 or so?) which will help lower the overall nic strength in your mad lab creations.

I agree with yankeebobo on the ego battery comment. I would've given up on the whole vaping thing as I never felt I got a good hit with the smaller battery. I'm using ego-type batteries with 501 threading and a variety of cartos including tanks. I use the tanks for the work days so I don't have to refill during the day. But we don't want you to run out and buy new stuff, we wanna work with what you have and feel comfy with for now ;) Do keep in mind the possibility tho, as changing over is (relatively) inexpensive, especially compared to buying a couple of cartons of analogs!

When I began vaping, I went straight to the dessert aisle :p. The last time I 'tried' to smoke a regular cig, I couldn't get more than three puffs down. It tasted like #&*() compared to sugar cookies. On the plus side I've lost 7 pounds in two weeks cuz I'm vaping my sweets vice eating them.

Hope this helps a bit...

My situation is similar, I found all the flavors odd at first now I kind of think the tobacco flavor by itself is kind of gross. I've been mixing mint liquids with my tobacco flavors. It gives it kind of a menthol like flavor but something different. I'll be using non-tobacco flavors more and more in the near future. I also got a black tea flavor that mixes well with tobacco, and with just the tea and mint mixed, it's great!
