Ah, yes.... Dead taste buds. I vaped happily for about a month and then my tastebuds went south on me. Then it took almost a month to get things back to normal. I seriously thought I had damaged my tongue! Once your tastebuds kick back in, you'll be amazed at the difference in liquids. Some you thought were great will suddenly taste like crap and vise versa. I dumped several bottles of liquid after mine came back because the flavors were so repulsive to me.

Great poem! I notice the one in your signature as well, very good. Also, sad because I understand how it is.

Thanks for sharing, The Ocelot.

I wrote this in early September. Unfortunately, it's still true.

Every morning I try some new vapes
hoping one I'll be able to taste
but Cool Cherry's like soap
Gummie Bears, maybe? Nope
Though today, while no cup, I got cake!

From Highbrow: Orange de Sangre, Buttered rum and then some, Coffee, RY4, and the apple one. (these are all 80PG/20VG regular flavor and 18mgs)

From flux: Blueberry Colada Smoothie and Frothachino (these are 70/30 PG/VG and 12mgs)

From vape Dudes: Totally Watermelon, Dudeaccino and Blue Honey (these are 50PG/50VG and 16mgs)'

From ECBlends: Belgian Waffle with strawberry, Butterscotch extra flavor, Dragon's Breath extra flavor (all of these are 50/50 and 12mgs)

Seems like a mix of flavors. I guess I havent tried much bakery things. Maybe that is next. I have a mint flavor coming from Ahlusions also, maybe I will like that. Malty Toffee is coming from Backwoods Brew.

Hoping to like something! Everything is steeping now. I've only been doing this for about 2 wks. Im glad to hear Im not alone and this is a normal and (hopefully temporary) thing.

What flavors have you tried?
Have you tried juices from different categories, tobacco, NET tobacco, Deserts, Candies, Fruit, Coffee & Teas, Drinks or Bakery?
Maybe trying some flavors from different categories could help.
What is the PG/VG ratio of the juices that you are trying?
Flavor comes threw stronger with higher PG levels. Does your vendor offer the option to add extra flavor?

I have not tried juices from the vendors that you listed, but generally juices improve with steeping. Try taking the tops off of the bottles for a couple of days and that may help with the plastic, perfume taste.

On my Twist I use 1.8 ohms from 3.7-4.0 volts. With my 2.4 ohms I use 4- 4.5 and even 4.8 volts. On all my 3.7 volt PVs I use 1.7 ohms cartos or 1.8 heads. Higher ohms requires higher volts otherwise a cooler vape. I would suggest maybe, as you're vaping, turn the voltage up until you hit your "sweet spot". Or try the 1.8 ohms at 3.7 volts. Also drink lots of water.

My twist is usually between 3.7 and 4.2 and my mini vivi nova is 2.4

It could be that your taste buds need time to heal.
I'm not sure if this is relevant so I will just throw this out there. I noticed you have a few coffee flavored juices.
I was having periods when all my juices tasted bland. I finally realized that this was occurring shortly after drinking coffee. Something in the coffee was hitting the mute button on my taste buds.
My wife and have a cocktail in the evening and BOOM that would immediately wake my taste buds.
A tongue scrapper and some mouth wash might help.
Also taste is very dependent on your sense of smell. If you are suffering from allergies or clogged sinuses that can mute what you are tasting.

I notice you don't have any Tobacco flavored juices. I don't really consider most RY4's to be tobacco.
I really like Naturally Extracted Tobacco (NET's) from Heather's Heavenly Vapes.
There are several other NET vendors. Quicknic, Goodejuice, and Ahlusion, are a few.

Good luck

I wrote this in early September. Unfortunately, it's still true.

Let me suggest something because this happened to me. I've also done a lot of reading in DIY and in topics about people who can't vape PG or high PG juice.

I thought it was because I was new that all the juice tasted the same to me. Even a week or a month later, it was still true.

I switched over to 100% VG and was able to taste juice again.

Even today, anything with PG in it, more than 10% or 20%, tastes like the "same" chemical taste, either that or parts of my tongue and lips go a little numb, and I get a numb feeling in my sinuses. By chemical taste I mean a sameness that is not flavor, but something else....soap, or perfumey, or just that PG taste that if you know what PG tastes like, it is IMMEDIATELY recognizable in every juice that has it for people like me.

Despite what they say about 100% VG muting flavors, that may be true, but it's not true if you are PG sensitive. :) Your taste buds won't *heal* from this.....it does not ever get better.

As soon as I figured this out, I could distinguish between juices. Even now, if I vape something that is 65%PG/35%VG, or anything where PG is higher % than the VG, I get the same chemical taste, and I cannot taste the underlying flavors in the juice AT ALL. I am several months into vaping and that part is the same from day #1 to day #60+, so I figured it out for me at least.

Dunno whether this will be true for you or not. Just sharing my own individual odyssey. :_ It's worth a shot.

Im also new to vaping, and have been smoking analog's for 35 years, so it probably will take some time for my taste buds to repair, I also can't taste any flavors, but after 3 day's of vaping I can smell the flavors, I am steeping my e juice and just ordered super concentrated pineapple from vapor bomb. It's funny though, I let 2 people who arn't smokers try my e juice flavors and neither of them can taste any flavor, so I think Im gonna try 100% VG ejuice's and see if that wakes up my taste buds, since I can't taste anything, I keep smoking analog's and wish I could completely quit but Ive got to get where Im satisfyed with taste.
