Hiya!! I quit smoking November 15th when I began vaping! Switching to 100% vaping was very easy for me from the 3rd day on. I truly think it is more of a hand to mouth thing for me. I started vaping at 16 mg nicotine and am currently at 12 mg. I don't missing smoking analogs at all. I found this forum after I had been vaping about a month. The wealth of information that I have found here is truly amazing and wonderful! Such a great community!!!!

I am in search of my ADV. Do other vapers find that a juice will taste great one day but not the next day or a week down the road?? I find that very frustrating! I believe I am a light vaper as I go through one, maybe two, mini-tanks a day.

Ok I don't know what an AVD is  My tastes change all the time, it just depends what I feel like at that particular time, I constantly rotate my tanks throughout the day and sometimes give a flavour a few days break from vaping. I found the more sweeter flavours are better late afternoon and my subtle flavours in the morning :)

I'm doing pretty well alternating a couple of flavors throughout the day, and continuing to like both of them.

Don't know if this would work for everyone, but last night I was reading and vaping, and ate several chocolate Hershey's kisses. After eating the candy, my vape tasted a lot stronger for a few minutes. Maybe the candy re-set my taste buds?

I'm 7 months into this and my tastes keep changing all the time. Right now, I don't like any of my regulars. This is when I break into the bag of juices that I hated in the beginning, in hopes to find something I like. Don't ever throw away any juice! You never know what you're gonna feel like having.

I'm in the same boat! Although I still can't get into the tobacco flavours, meh.

This is very common, and not just in vaping. It's called Palate Fatigue and happens to anyone who experiences the same smell or taste for extended periods of time.

Professional tip here.

Perfumers, wine tasters, and many other professions that rely on their sense of taste and smell have a simple trick for "resetting" your tastebuds and sense of smell.

Simply get some ground coffee and take a few good sniffs.

Yep, that's all it takes. Simple little trick, but it REALLY works.

I smoked for 15 years before switching to cigalikes 6 months ago. I've been using a real Vaperizer (Joyetech / Kanger / Local B&M E-Juice) for 11 days. While I am in no way familiar with the quirks related to E-Juice, I can say it took many months after quitting analogs before my tastebuds improved. It's been heavily documented that heavy / long term smokers loose their sense of taste, and that was my experience.

Also, as our body chemistry changes (aging, gaining weight, poor or good diets, etc) so does our sense of taste. Vanilla doesn't taste the same for me as it did 20 years ago. Rosemary, which I loved for years, now tastes like soap.

Add to that most people have a "flavor profile" they prefer overall, and that might never change. But other flavors may improve (or not) based on any number of factors.

As a newbie to e-juice flavors, I expect to taste a lot of e-juice that just make go meh! until I find my personal favorites. And this is with me being quite familiar with my personal "flavor profile".

I'm coming up on 4 weeks. I haven't changed my starter juice, but have tried some flavors. Haven't found anything that rocks my world. I have the misconception that the flavor should mimic the real thing. i.e. grape should taste like grape koolaid. As far as taste bud changes, I am occasional iced-tea drinker and haven't had a cup of coffee in over 14 years. Story behind the coffee was after major surgery and 21 day hospital stay, coffee had a bitter taste and previously I was a 4 pot a day drinker. This weekend, the drink of choice (or what was served at lunches and banquets) was tea. It was nasty and had a terrible after-taste. I tried coffee and was surprise at how good it was.
I'm not trashing any of the flavors I've tried as the advice in this thread makes perfect sense.

Thank you everyone for the great replies!! I won't throw any away....I may not like the flavor that particular day...but if I need a nicotine fix and am low on funds....I will learn to like that juice for the day to stay off analogs! :D

That's exactly how I feel. The worst juice has gotta be better than a cigarette since I started vaping.

I also started vaping mid November. My tastebuds still aren't back at all(perhaps because I can't give up that last 2 cigs a day).

The only thing I can taste consistently is menthol and cinnamon. So I vape mostly them. But I just ordered a huge amount of small bottles of juice, hoping to find some I can taste. I'm hoping if i constantly change flavors, my taste buds wont be able to get used to any of them.
