I think it's a crap shoot. I have had two for 100+ Days (901 and 801)and another crapped out in 1 week (801).
Like any cheaply made Chinese junk, chargers are likely to be a crap shoot. I would expect that they are either good or bad when you get them. By this I mean that it will fail relatively quickly or it will keep on ticking much longer than you will be using that type of battery. The types of devices that go into a battery charger don't really have a life span, you can't really use them up.
One of the main ways that Chinese manufacturers are able to produce electronics so cheaply (besides the cheap labor) is that they use the cheapest components they can get their hands on that are just barely good enough for the selected application (in this case a battery charger). These low end components are more likely to have incidences of infant mortality. They are also more likely to sustain damage if used in an unintended way.
