Charger Question

Hello one and all!

Just a quick hello and a quick question!

I'm a total newbie when it comes to vaping, my brother gave me his old atomizer and I've found it had really helped me cut down - I still have the odd analogue but I think I actually prefer the vape.

Anyway, my model is an ego-t of some sort (I'll probably buy something better at some point). Unfortunately I've lost the charger for it, so my question is, is it possible to hack something together using cable to the connectors to the battery from an AA battery charger or a multiple voltage transformer? I have a fair amount of electronics knowledge, and I'm not too worried about breaking it!

Hi and welcome!

I'm a new vaper and new to this forum. Ego USB chargers are fairly cheap and can be found all over the web. You probably want wall wort to plug the USB charger into also.

I don't know much about electronics but it's probably easier and cheaper to just buy one made for the Ego.

Yeah, I've actually ordered a new one but it had a 5 day delivery time and I don't think I can do without for that long!!

For the $5 it costs for a usb charger, it's not worth the risk. If you overcharge it, these batteries pack a serious punch. We also don't need any more media stories about e-cigarettes blowing up.

If you have any vape shops near you, they would possibly have one. It never hurts to have an extra. You definitely cannot use a charger for NiCd/NiMh batteries to charge LiIo batteries. That I know for sure.

do not try to rig a charger....try to find someone who has the same style as what you had or wait for the new one....this can be a bad thing. i'd rather see see you smoking than to see you smoking in a worse way...

Cobbing together a makeshift battery charger is just asking for trouble IMHO. Electronics knowledge or not, there is more to the equation than just a battery and a makeshift charger, there is also the electronics in the eGo itself to consider and how that might affect or be affected by the attempt

Thanks for the heads up guys! Sounds like it could have gone horribly wrong. I also now know not to keep it between my legs when I'm driving It turned up in the end anyway (now I have a spare!).
