for the AC to USB part 2 amps usually means MAX 2 amps.

I recommend a 4 port max 2amp charger - I can charge 4 assorted batteries at once on this. I have the old discontinued US-only version. This one works in US and international AC outlets.
Newegg.com - Rosewill 2 Amp 4 Port USB International Traveling Wall Charger RUC-6181 for iPhone/iPod/iPad/MP3

Only caveat - you cannot fit 2 of the stubby no-cable USB to battery adapters next to each other and it's possible you can just fit one on the end, depending on how fat it is. In my other 3 slots I use cable-style USB to battery adapters. Mine is set up right now to charge 2 KR8 batteries, 1 401 battery and 1 510 battery. A USB cable to charge a PCC could replace one of the battery cables.

if I want to use a PT on the adapter I may need to remove all of the batteries - some PT/atty or PT/carto combos need a full 2 amps.

If the output of the ac to usb power supply is greater than the input rating of the usb to 808 connector charger, then going to an even larger power supply will not help, you are limited by the charger.

(i can have a 100 amp ps, if the charger says input of 100 mA then 99.9 amps of the ps aren't being used)

For passthrough, a 2 amp ps is good.

If your charger says 150 mA input, and your ps only says 100 mA output, then, sure, an upgrade of the ps will help.

Correct it would not charge it faster if you original charger was designed for and sufficient for the battery. A battery charging cable only uses a certain amount of power. Any more amps or mA are just wasted unless you have the extra USB slots like the 4-port has and can use them to charger other things at the same time.

So the 2amp one would be fine, the 4-port 2 amp I linked to would be more useful IMO
