Well i also do have a wall adaptor with 5V am 550ma so i can use that since its only 50ma more or no?

It doesn't work that way.

Amps are a measure of the rate of flow of energy.
A load "pulls" or "draws" whatever amperage (current) it is designed for, if it can.
The spec on a power supply is the maximum current it can provide.

I just checked my AIO with a multi-amp supply... it draws 0.55 A.

Use either, but the HTC should have an easier time of it... like not running your car at red-line.

Hey everyone

I just got my ego aio from joyetech and i was wondering if i can charge it with htc wall adapter which outputs 5V and 1A? Am i safe using that wall adapter?
You are 100% fine. These devices only use the amperage they need.

I'm getting tired of the overreaction and hysteria when it comes to charging these things or batteries in general. Just because a few fools misused a mech mod or carried around beat up batteries loose in their pockets with other metal objects it sure as hell doesn't mean that your setup is a ticking time bomb. /end rant.

Your device is a safe as they come.

Also, my rant wasn't directed at the OP as asking questions never hurt anyone. :)

I think of wall adapter amp ratings as just their Limit, not what they always send out. It's up to the charger, or device, to determine what it pulls, not exceeding the wall adapter. I do notice that my wall adapters get warmish when using chargers that Could pull more amps than the adapter

Don't "think" it... "know" it.

That's how it works. :D
