Can anyone recommend what's the best charger for charging the UltraFire XSL 18350 1200mAh 3.7v battery?

I tried using my TrustFire TR-005 but the battery got crazy hot in less than 5 min. so I took it off.

I also have a TrustFire TR-003P4 but not sure if it works for the 18350

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was actually just searching for 18350 batteries and for a charger for them.

I found this charger:

They have 'em at Battery Junction here....

Lemme know if you end up ordering it, and how well it works! They're $14.95 for the charger.

Good luck!

I saw this charger before but was not familiar with the name brand (TL) but it looks to be a good quality charger. I'll let you know if I purchase it how well it works. Thanks

The TR-005 is made for large cells, the stated out-put of 1.5A is quite high, hence the over heating. Your TR-003P4 has a 1/2A (500mA) rate (check the label on the bottom) and should work just fine.

As Willy pointed out the charger is too powerful for the batt. The 1200mAh batt is capable of a max charge and discharge of 1.2A, whilst your charger is putting out 1.5A. The battery simply cannot accept that high a charging rate. It would be like trying to push a golf ball up a garden hose. When charging batts the rule of thumb is to use a setting (on adjustable ones) to below the mAh rating of the battery. e.g a 500ma or 0.5A will do just fine, besides the slower the charge, the better the charge, and the better the life out of the charge and battery as a whole. Hope this helps.

That's a 350mA charger = slow. TR-003P4 will be faster.
