Just joined, trying to join chat but after entering my nick it brings me to the Mibbit page and i enter the server etc and click join and nothing happens...lol

There should be no action required on the part of the user when you click on Live Chat. You'll get a popup that should already have your forum nick displayed in the box. Do not enter anything. Click join and it should take you into the chat.
What other page?
When you click on "Live Chat" at the top of the forum, you should be taken to a page that looks like this:
No other action is required on your part other than to click "Go".
