What in everyone's opinion would be the best rta to use as a beater? Situations like when doing physical activity or something and having in pocket, just generally being beaten and tossed around. I'm looking for something that has a stainless steel tank or at least that option. Generally looking to spend less than $20 so pretty much looking at ft clones.

I do have a v2 aqua on the way which should generally fight the bill but I want at least one more to play with (plus the clumsy gf surely needs a good beater also). I really like the look of the v6 orchid but I don't want a glass or plastic tank (nor did I see a replacement ss) and the one with the ss tank option looked iffy. Thought about orchid now kayfun and spare parts for both down the road for interchangeable Frankensteining but which models are interchangeable with which isn't exactly clear.

What I'm looking for will not be a daily user so I don't need first rate performer but I would like dual coil capability and more than one tiny airflow hole (though 3.0 kayfun for $11 is appealing). I'd really like the orchid deck on a kayfun body but the closest things seem to be aqua and fogger, I went with aqua for easy fill and dripping option.

I'll probably see what I think of the aqua first but if I don't like it or just want something different what would you recommend? Solid steel, durable, airier draw, dual coil, no leaking... Is that too much to ask?

A Flash E Vapor V3 all most fits the description :) I guess you could run dual coils but I don't, With the largest air hole it's not bad nothing like a Lemo or subtank but not too bad
With a Flash E you will need SS mesh for the feeder wicks. IMO it's the most under rated least talked about tank out there or the best keep secret :)
I run mine at .5 ohms 30 watts and it's a beast :)
22 bucks at FT :)

Got my aqua. I like it and it'll definitely serve it's purpose as a beater... For a $15 clone it arrived without any burrs or machining problems whatsoever and also didn't have the machine oil (so far I've only received this and a Derringer from FT but I've yet to get something with machine oil, guess I'm just lucky?). The airflow isn't bad though I wish it would have two holes instead of just one. I really like the build deck and this has made me more interested in products with similar decks (orchid, fogger, goblin, goliath, etc), and it's neat that it you can use it as a dripper then just pull the body off and screw the tank on whenver (I'm actually using it in dripper mode right now to have an alternate flavor hitter). My only real complaints with it are that I wish it had just a bit more airflow in tank mode and, though I'm not sure what the actual tank capacity is, I feel like it wouldn't be enough for a whole day of use.

Filling it is a bit of a pain considering most of my bottles are blunt tips but I'll just have to invest in more needle tip bottles (I tried to see if just squirting my high VG juice around the brim would work and if it would drain down into the holes but it doesn't, it just sits there) -- I'll definitely need some because I went ahead and ordered a Kayfun 3.0 too, because it was cheap and one can never have too many spare attys.

I'm not in a hurry to purchase another atty but when I have some extra money in my paypal account I think my next purchase will be either a golbin, a goliath, or a Kayfun 4. I really like the idea of the goliath but I just wish that it had a steel tank option and more capacity.

Thanks for the tips, though! I like everything about the Rose except for that ceramic cup build style, I've never actually tried it but I'm just not fond of the idea. The Flash E does look nice and simple and solid and I may just end up with one of those in my near future too.

Anyone else feel like they're addicted to buying vape gear? :?:

You could get a goblin and a K4 and put the k4 tank on the goblin for a SS goblin. :)

Needs a needle to fill.

I have to say, I'd go with a Kayfun v4 by Infinite clone(~$26 at Fasttech), I can barely tell the difference between it and my authentic Kayfun's, so much so that I have to keep them separate from each other to ensure I don't get them mixed up! The machining, threading, O rings are all top notch and it vapes just as great. In fact, all the parts I've tried so far are interchangeable so I'll be picking up a P3 connector to swap into it. The best part is, if it gets completely destroyed, dented, scratched etc it's only $26 instead of $170.

KFL+V2 and Orchid V4 tank parts are interchangeable, as long as the overall tank length is 34mm you're good to go to use a KF top fill cap. I built four Orchid V4's with them.

Actually it's not a true "out and about" beater tank if you have to fiddle with a primitive fill screw... spend a little more (about $30 total) and get an Orchid V4, a Kayfun top fill cap, and a Kayfun Lite Plus V2 (to steal the 3-pc steel body from it). I tried to find just the middle-piece of the tank in SS... no joy.

Ooh is this true? Can someone confirm this for me and does it fit with the short or long chimney?

I do really like the whole idea of being able to rebuild with juice in the tank and not having to bottom fill -- I think my future holds a KF 4 or an orchid with kayfun parts.

I think my dream tank would be this: a subtank mini but with a fixed rebuildable deck that had 4 juice channels and had a spare SS tank option.

Here's a pic of my goblin with a K4 tank with a chimney extension taking it to 6ml. Basically - the K4 chimney fits the goblin and all else follows. So you can run short (which is standard), long when you've found it and, therefore, the Steam Tuners nano chimney allows you to run nano. Nano link: Kayfun V4 ST Nano chimney - Accessories - SteamTuners P.C.

For SS, a SS 4ml tank comes as standard with K4, FT do a 7ml one, and you can research from the above link as to what options nano offers you.

I do really like the whole idea of being able to rebuild with juice in the tank and not having to bottom fill -- I think my future holds a KF 4 or an orchid with kayfun parts.

With this hybrid yes, you have access to the tank on demand. I've been running it like this for a while and haven't tried top filling, assuming it would get messy - the K4 relies on juice control for top filling. I remove the tank and needle fill from below - no fiddly screws to deal with; straight in the hole.

@doofy666: so what exactly do you have going on there -- is it just the Goblin deck, chimney base, and 510 connector then Kayfun everything else?

Is the Goblin build deck head and shoulders above an Orchid or about the same? I'm thinking of just building a custom out of FT spare parts using an Orchid 3/4 base, then again they have a Goblin clone for like $12...

Goblin base inc deck. Kayfun everything else. What is usually called the chimney - the small cylinder that fits over the deck - is not what K4 calls chimney. Go here: http://www.chitown-angler.com/pichosting/albums/userpics/10006/K4.pdf and see that the chimney is #26. I have Goblin base, and everything else is #26 and upwards. #26 screws direct onto Goblin base.
These 2 links are the cheapest source of K4 #26 and above, inc SS tank. About $10 altogether:

No idea, no experience of Orchid. All I know is the Goblin build deck is tiny with huge juice channels and it has massive air, which tells me that the Orchid has a larger build deck, smaler juice channels and less air. You get used to the build deck so it comes down to how much air you want. If you want "massive", you want the Goblin.
