No idea, no experience of Orchid. All I know is the Goblin build deck is tiny with huge juice channels and it has massive air, which tells me that the Orchid has a larger build deck, smaler juice channels and less air. You get used to the build deck so it comes down to how much air you want. If you want "massive", you want the Goblin.
I have no experience with the Goblin, but I can't imagine using a smaller build deck than an Orchid, and the juice flow/airflow channels were easily remedied in 10 minutes with a drill/dremel. Throw in the top fill cap and it just makes it no contest for me. Not even close.

I don't have a dremel might look into getting one soon though.

I got my Kf4s and while it's nice and flavors is quite good I do yearn for more airflow and sub ohm dual coil building.

I've been asking questions in other threads but thought I'd try to re contain this conversation here again.

I had Goblins at FT processing but cancelled due to paranoia about the insulator. The FT orchid base doesnt look much better.

Has anyone had trouble with either of these clones' insulators melting on them?

Also -- the orchids, would the airflow be comparable to a Subtank at two holes to wide open or not quite?

I keep going back and forth. Silverplay clone, Goblin clone, authentic Goblin, ,Orchid...

The 4s Kit makes the K4 more useable: Kayfun v4 4S Kit for Tobeco - Eciggity

Occasionally I see reports of people dualling the K4, but it's not really what it was made for, despite the 4 screws. But hey - it's got 4 screws and if dualling floats your boat, you lose little by trying it.

Nope. I have a few spare sets of PEEK insulators ($6 at avidvaper), just in case, but none of the 4 FT Orchids have needed them because my builds don't loosen up and create hot legs in the coil. PEEK is more important if you tend to limp-wrist using a screwdriver.

Thanks good to know maybe I'll just get the goblins after all. I figured I was just being paranoid I have a FT derringer that I run at .2 on a mech without problems. I have been doing nothing but tensioned coils so I should be good.

Nice to know I could get peek insulators if I run into a problem though. :)

So, if I make my Gobfun... What's the best use of the leftover Kf4 base and Goblin tank? I figure I'll have the parts if I can do so cheaply why not make them functional?

Kf4 base on Goblin? Would any version orchid base fit in the Goblin and thread to the upper chimney? If so I could go with a Goblin, an orchid base, plus an extra kayfun evap chamber, chimney base, and bellcap... Would be fairly cheap and allow a Kf4 bell, a Gobfun, and an Orchlin.

But I noticed on FT that the Goblin says chimney thread 13 x .5 and the orchids that had a measurement said 14 x .5... So I'm guessing the Orchid-Goblin is a no go?

And just so I'm clear: Is the Kf4 13 x .5? Is that the thread size where chimney base connects to deck, and/or where the chimney base connects to upper chimney?
