I could check my rba resistance on my Lambo, with a multi-meter, or with a cartometer. I would just use my Lambo, but don't want to mess it up if I have a short or something. The cartometer seems the best, but is expensive. I can get a multi-meter for just $10 though and can use it to check the voltage on my batteries too.

Does it really matter? Is it safe enough to just use my Lambo? Does the multi-meter do the job as well as the cartometer?

i dont know the lambo personally, but if it has ohms check built in then it is also short circuit protected also and wont let you fire or test a shorted atty. use it - this is why the feature is there. and the cartometer is just the ohm check function of a regular multimeter built into a fancy case with a 510 connection.

Ohm meter is more versatile if you're going to need it for other things but it's not as quick and easy as screwing on the atty and pushing a button. If the mod has protection built in..which most with a ohm meter do then I wouldn't worry about it, I use my Provari all the time. I personally wouldn't go for a cartometer, you're back to less versatile with the connection and it cost more than a meter.

I have a cheapo multimeter from RadioShack. Its not super accurate but it will tell me enough to know whether or not I screwed up. To get the resistance I want I just do math and cut the wire to the length I need. My multimeter is way too inaccurate and jumps around too much for that purpose. If I want a 1.6 ohm coil, I cut my wire, build the Atty, check with the multi meter to make sure its not shorting, and then my provari will tell me the exact resistance. I could do away with the multimeter completely but it saves me the step of putting the atomizer into the 519 base.

Your lambo will tell you if there's a short F0 is the error I believe.
