id like to throw out a topic for discussion
Has anyone in attempt to quit smoking , perhaps crashed or had a breakdown during the process?
If you had this happen did it feel like something chemically changed like never before ?
If so how long did it take for you to go back to baseline?

What did you do change and did you go back to smoking ect...? Did it help?
How long till you felt you were ok enough to continue?
lastly Did you ever try to quit again than have better results the next time ?
Or did you quit trying to quit?
All comments welcomed

Btw I am approaching my one year anniversary of my last attempt to quit smoking . The Last time I tried I was so determined .... However was already at a low point in my life without any support and gave it my all. In my attempt had many obstacles to over come. One was severre reaction to PG.... All this happened when my body is going though major detox through the process of getting over a major addiction. I guess your brain is very powerful can come up with many reasons and side effects on letting go of the smokes . I had 45 days of hell IMO a perfect storm for crashing .. In short . Too quick too fast cutting my 30 yr PAD habit down ... Lack of WTA and on top of I Had a MAJOR Withdrawals of every kind.( they did not stop only got worse....... too much to list ) .... and MAJOR reactions to PG or an juice containing a small % PG .. Was imposable to rule out till I finial got that out of equation . Took me 40 days to sort out what was what .. But than for me it was too late . Long story

Btw Im not given up but have to start all over And nott gona be easy this time around . I fear I will crash again... OVER 30 years I smoked ..I loved it and hatted it ....... only tried to quit but 3 times in my life.... Last time I was in it %1000% . I WANTED TO QUIT FOR GOOD and thought vaping was going to replace and satisfy the smokes. During my last attempt I suffered through MAJOR stuff for 2 months straight EVERY DAY thinking issues would get better. But ONLY GOT WORSE . I had 45 days of major withdrawals . .. YOU HAVE NO IDEA what I toughed it out. ya know when I smoked my last smoke and got sick I thought it was all behind me only to end up crashing lack of WTA's over 30 days ..... worse yet when I realized what had happened and had to go back to smoking , I replaced my old reds with RYO's so now ya see im in bigger trouble ..
Bottom line still like to quit but don't know when and how to proceed to next step

thanks again for all your help and support

Hi Kenny. You're not alone. Some people pick up an ecig and make the switch without a hitch. Others experience withdrawal and go through hell. I think it comes down to how dependent you are on all the other stuff in tobacco cigarettes aside from the nicotine. I was more in the latter category and it took me a good 7-8 months before I felt like I was really over the hump.

What helped me was SNUS. I got some swedish snus and used those as needed for a few months when my ecig just wasn't enough for me. Maybe give that a try?

After smoking for 46 years, I had two molars extracted (preparation for implants), and could NOT smoke. The pain of hot smoke on the extraction area was so severe that it was not an option ...

I was so messed up for the next week that any chemical changes were masked by general misery and recovery ...

Disposables got me through the first week (NJOY Bolds), then the PV adventure began for real ...

I was lucky, had a distraction powerful enough to make the transition relatively easy ...

hey thanks for answering , i didn't see your. reply till today .I was hoping more folks would stay on topic of chemical change never ending withdrawal and how long it took to rebound or what went wrong first time they failed ect......... But i know this is a support forum. You guys been a great help but im still out of sorts like to know what went down. with myself as folks that may have / still have shared similar struggles

Like i mentioned this month is my Quit anniversary. and its bothering me for one that i failed. How much I invested in that attempt only to crash in the process. .Right before the crash I was almost smoke free I felt great for a few days but never an even keel .I was loosing it little by little and battled withdrawal symptoms beyond imaginable flue symptoms, continual headaches, brain fog, Nausia (all the while I had reactions and needed to rule out a PG issue. (clogged ears, warm hands, face)
I dunno why but ever since my crash i still feel hung over takes me like hours to get going and feel deeper into the Love hate smoking relationship. It keeps me goin but also for some reason I think its why I still don't feel right either?? I am not fresh feeling clear minded anymore . Where as before I always felt relived calm and renewed after smoking?

.Now i have a good friend. that is smoke free like 8 years . Hes been encouraging me for some time and told me see you went toooooo fast , He siad I should of taken a year to slow down and cut my smokes to zero . My first two weeks I had cut down 50% with a plan to totally ween down to zero in 4 weeks and replace vaping. Of course that didn't happen , came close but crashed... My buddy said that he experienced the change and hasn't felt same since either However he is smoke free today. Now I dunno if my body / brain fought that whole experience of fnilay able to let go. Or I was jutst not getting enough WTA in my vaping experience to satisfy my body . It all happened way too fast took but two months to totally crash. Oh Btw I did try snuss, and snuff was not my cup of T and I had some good stuff sent to me . I really gave at a go a few times but it was not doing anything but frustrating me and the snuff made me sick within minutes.

Hey thanks for listening

I was vaping only part-time for about 9 months before I finally quit the cigs for good & switched to full-time vaping..

And when I did, I went through heck for a good month or two... fortunately, that subsided big-time

Good vaping equipment & good liquid are essential

Poke around the other ECF forums for ideas for those... I also watch some YouTube stuff to see things in action

- Former smoker of 25-30 analogs a day for like 25 years -- and NEVER going back! :vapor:

People think that it's just nicotine that you become addicted to but there are numerous other alkaloids in tobacco that your body "MAY" become addicted to as well. The jury is still out as to whether it is indeed nicotine that is the addictive substance in tobacco or that it is even addictive at all! From the thousands of chemicals in tobacco your body is gonna miss a good few of them.

On a completely different note, even if you fail, everytime you're vaping you're not smoking so that's the plus side. I forget what the average amount of times it takes to quit smoking but i think it's around 8.

Aww, so sorry, Kenny. I did read your posts, but I misunderstood the one in April. Although I have been off smokes for over 5 years, I have struggled mightily with anxiety. And I do mean mightily. Getting a handle on it now, but it still lurks around me all the time. I hope you find your way out.
