Hey guys, I'm a 23 year old from Texas. I've been vaping for probably 10 years now. I started very young when they first started releasing the stick vapes at gas stations. I was in the Marine Corps for 5 years, and vaped the entire time. I always had a mod and a sub-ohm atomizer. I primarily used fruity flavors with 8 - 16mg of nicotine, usually made in house. Once in a blue moon, I would get sick off of it (rare). It would be a light pneumonia that would go away in a couple days. Sometimes I would hit it empty and it would burn my throat, causing it. But it didnt happen very often.

I recently got out of the military, and switched to salt-nic. I moved from juul, back to the sub-ohm, then to a salt-nic voopoo nano. I started having chest pains when vaping alot. I figured they would just go away, because for the most part, im very healthy. But it kept persisting, even when I changed vg/pg ratios, flavors, and nicotine types. Eventually, it led to me going to the ER for a panic attack due to the chest pains(long story). They said I had heartburn, and gave me meds, and sent me on my way. I know that my problems are due to vaping, but i'm still unsure on what is going on.

Recently, after I vape alot, my center chest will pop when I breath deep. Also, there are small, sharp pains when breathing after vaping, that can come on/off up to 3-5 hours after vaping. Sometimes pain in the sides as well. But NO coughing whatsoever. I was a very fast long distance runner in the military, and would vape before and after running, and be perfectly fine.

If anyone has had, or heard about issues like this, if you could post your thoughts/solutions, they would be very much welcomed.

    Need to talk to Willie.

I get popping sounds in my chest at times during my life; I've been smoking for nearly 40 years. I had a chest x-ray last year that showed I was all clear. Sometimes a body can get the mind to overreact.

However, you might need a second opinion.

Welcome. I have to be honest, vaping at 13 years old is messed up but many people started smoking that young so what can I say? Sounds like you are a heavy chain vaping cloud chaser. Doing that with high nic is way overkill. If you are chucking clouds you should only need 3-6 mg nic. Just my opinion. It's like drinking... having a few cocktails is not the same as slamming a fifth of straight booze. Moderation my young friend.

PG allergies, flavor allergies, VG allergies, the list goes on.
What's your current nic level, what type of device are you using?

Generally, these are the things to try:
    1. See your Doctor!
    2. Reduce your nicotine level
    3. Reduce your power level (if possible)
    4. Raise your resistance (ohms) level.

So I have 5% salt-nic in a voopoo nano, which is 8 ohms. I feel fine when im not hitting it. But I feel alot of after effects after hitting it 5-6 times. The juice is 70/30 (vg/pg) called 'The salty one' (strawberry). I get the effects after hitting juuls, and other salt-nic devices too though

Also (this seems to common with the younger crowd) are you doing energy drinks? Even too much coffee or soda. Nicotine and caffiene will really get you spun out.

Yeah, I used to drink a red bull/vape almost everyday lol, terrible I know. I have gotten off of red bull though, and only drink a cup of coffee every other morning

Its weird because I had a chest x-ray at the hospital, and they said everything was perfectly fine, so they ruled it as heartburn. But the chest pains still happen, I'll be seeing a doctor soon though

Ok so your not "chucking clouds". Your little pod device is 1.8 ohms (just watched a video) I doubt PG is the issue at only 30% but 5% nic is very strong. 5-6 draws shouldn't be causing chest pains... some nausea from the nic yes. How many times a day do you fill the pod? It only holds 1ml.
Just as an aside from the op, for some people pg around 2% to 5% can cause various problems.
If it was the PG the OP wouldve been having problems along time ago.

Theres a couple of threads on reddit, a few more on POTV and a few here where people have made a switch to nic salts and started having chest pains.
Maybe switch back to freebase and see if the problem goes away. All you can really do is go through a process of elimination to see if you can find the culprit.
One of the benefits of DIY juice and building your own coils etc is you can really isolate problem components and ingredients.

    Welcome and glad you joined.
Sorry to hear about your bad experience. We are all different people and react individually to the environment about us. To bad our government feels they have to dictate how we should cope with life without the knowing the facts.
