Hi!

My brother and I are trying to decide on which brand of e-cigs we should get. I've narrowed my decision down to the V9 Nebula due to the joined cart and atomizer. My logic is that I can buy plenty of cartomizers and then only have to worry about if my battery goes bad. Is my reasoning flawed? Can anyone give me any feedback on how they like thier Nebula/VK ecig?

My brother is looking at the 510 but he worries that the atomizers will become a burdon on him.

Any info you can give either of us would be much appreciated.

Regrettably still smoking analogs today,

The Nix

I have not used the Nebula so I can't help you there but I do use the 510/Yeti and have been for about 2 1/2 mths with no atomizer issue. I do have the manual switch and the battery is sealed. I tend to vape very heavy at times but not constantly. I use 2 atomizers that I switch back and forth which in my opinion causes them to last longer. Hope this helps and best of luck!

Considering the short battery life and the cost of replacing atomizers with every cart and no easy way to use liquid which tastes better and costs much less, I just don't see the advantages of that type of PV.

The PV's I use are manual, so you get great throat hit and warm vapor every inhale and unlike your auto switch type, there is no 3-5 second cut-off of the battery. My batteries last between 6-8 hours on a charge even with very heavy vaping. My replacement batteries cost $2 instead of $13-$20. I use liquid that costs $9.50 for 30ml which would be at least equal to 50-100 carts. My atomizers cost $5.50 and typically last a month.

But if you like the performance of that PV, then that is all that matters.

Alright, I simply searched this forum for Nebula (why didn't I think of this before?) and I find that most people have very little praise for the Nebula. Similar to yours wv2win. I appreciate your input as I am fearful of making a bad decision. I am thinking of switching it to a manual dse901 and i am looking at EastMall. It's very affordable and seems to be referenced here quite alot. Is this going to have a desirable enough throat hit and vapor output?

EastMall is a good vender that I have used. The "manual" 901's are very new and in fact I thought they were still a week away from hitting suppliers but I may be wrong on that. Basically, any manual will be better than any auto switch device. I think the manual 901 or the 510 would be good first PV's to try. Personally, I, like many long time members, have moved to the premier PV's with the long life, big hit, $2 batteries. If you are inclinded to go for the best right off the bat, I will give you some links to look at. If you end up liking to vape, you will end up getting one of these eventually.

The Big Five in Long Battery Life Manual Switch PV’s:

Screwdriver: ecigscrewdriver.com
The Black Screwdriver Kit / Totally Wicked eLiquid / Electronic Cigarette e-liquid shop
Prodigy: PureSmoker.com - Home of the USA Built PV !!!
GG: THE GG
JantyStick: Janty USA
LV/ZiMoshi: http://www.zimoshi.com/

PS: one of my favorite liquids is KENT flavor that you can get from EastMall. A very smooth tobacco flavor.
PSS: the bigger battery manuals do cost more initially, but you will save money in the long run due to how cheap the batteries are that you can get from battery dealers. And batteries on the smaller PV's don't last very long. You will have to constantly replace them.

Eastmall is a great vendor but for your first e-cig you might not want a 10 day wait. Make sure you get juice

I haven't posted enough yet to start a thread, so I hope I can get this answered here.

I've read your posts, wv2win, and was blown away by hearing about $2 batteries! I'm using a VX2 and have bought a lot of spare batteries, for "just in case"...and they have cost a bundle.

As per the SDs...these look like they would hold more liquid and that the batteries would last pretty well. Is that the case?

I've been vaping for a month...was a chain smoker...and I haven't picked up an analog since I switched. So, I think I'm definitely going to vape the rest of my life. If the SDs hold more liquid, then I would imagine that the money would be well spent on buying one now. The supplies I have already wouldn't go to waste, as I would always have an emergency supply.

Anything anyone can tell me about the SDs will be greatly appreciated!

Hey, Jan, Welcome to the Forum and congratulations!

The SD - Screwdriver was made to use a 901 atomizer but I believe you can get it with an adapter for an 801 atomizer.

The PD - Prodigy comes with one adapter for either a 901 or 801 atomizer but you can puchase the extra adapter for the second type of atomizer for $39 so you actually could use both. I think they also have an adapter for the 510 atomizer. These adapters simply screw on and off and are easy to change.

The 901 atomizer is smaller with a smaller cart so it does not hold as much juice. It does get hotter and some people like it better. I use to like the 901 better when using it on the SD. But the battery for the SD is 3.7v whereas the PD's battery is 5v. I find the larger 801 atomizer and cart is better with the PD because of the 5v output of the battery (makes the atomizer get warmer). With the PD it is easy to kill 901 atomizers because of the higher volts. The throat hit and vapor on the PD is the best I have every had and is much better than 98% of all PV's made. The SD is not quite as good a throat hit and vapor but is still outstanding and better than all but the PD and maybe the GG. I can get 7-8 hours on the SD batteries and 5-6 on the PD.

I hope this helps. Send me a PM (private message) if you need more information. Here are some links for the batteries:

Prodigy: Rechargeable Batteries & Battery Chargers - RCR123A 3.0V 750mAh LiFePO4 Rechargeable Battery

Screwdriver: DealExtreme: $6.92 SpiderFire LC-16340 3.6V 880mAh Rechargeable Lithium Batteries (4-Pack)

Thanks for the welcome and all the info, wv2win! I really want to check out all the links you have provided...in fact, I've already bookmarked the dealers of the different types you listed earlier on.

I think I will end up getting one of these products. It can't hurt to have more than one type. In fact, I've been amazed to see how many different products some of the posters have!

Just ask if you have more questions. When I first graduated from college, my first job was at Loyola University in New Orleans. I had a lot of fun in NO and saw things I had NEVER seen before, also, lol. Great food.

Thanks brother for getting that additional info for me on the 501. It will definately be my first VP. In fact, I have already loaded my shopping cart at RuyanDirect. Can't wait to be loading other types of carts. Next... payday, then shipping, then adding my handy little banner to tell me how much money I have saved.

Thanks about the questions, wv2win. Will do!

My three kids graduated from LSU, but 2 of them went on to graduate from Loyola Law School.

Oh, my, I'll bet you did see things you've never seen before...;)...but I tend to stay out of the French Quarter at night. The food...oh, yes...some of the world's best!!!

I love my 510 but do have battery/atomizer issues. If I could find an e-cig with equal throat hit but better battery life Id switch. Ive been smoke free 5+ weeks so I'm relatively new to all this. I made my first order of new batteries and atomizers from china but after reading this am weary of what I mayl get. I think the 510 is a great start. Best of luck to you.

Have you considered getting the 510 "Mega" batteries? They'll give you about double the effective battery life between charges.
