Could there be a short in your atty? Use an ohm meter to check. Is the positive pin on the mod adjustable by screwdriver? Maybe it needs to be raised up to make contact with the atty's pin. I had a piss poor Dragon clone, and the fire button needed to be screwed in further for it to make contact.

Thank you for the response. I think the atty itself is fine. I was reluctant to take it apart because I got it new in box and din't want to void any return/exchange policy (assuming the vendor has one). I really want to hear of any potential causes of this. So thank you again for your response.
Something just isn't making contact.
