A Clapton is a core wire/s with a thinner wire used as an outer wrap, like a guitar string hence the moniker. The outer wire does not carry any appreciable current, but is heated by conductive and radiative heat by the core wire.
This is a way of increasing the mass and surface area of the coil without lowering the overall resistance of the coil. This increase in surface area can mean that the overall heat flux can be lower, but still produce a lot of vapor. Because the outer wrap is essentially getting a free ride and the overall mass of the coil is increased, higher wattages are usually required to bring the coil up to a usable heat level.
Make sure your
mod's mode is set appropriately for the core wire. Start at a low wattage and increase it incrementally until you reach a satisfying
vape.
