Classified rules

I don't mind jumping through the "become verified" hoop. My gripe is the need to have a minimum of 20 posts on the forum. Some folks are readers of posts and have no desire to post something them-self unless they feel very strongly about something or have a question answered that they couldn't find on a post or elsewhere. I, for one, do not care to post something trivial just to get my "post count" up. ECF needs to rethink this issue.

here we go....get ready for the flames new guy.

i'll just say that the forum rules are great just the way they are....i've never gotten screwed over there....and you'd sing a different tune if you get jipped out of a couple hundred bucks buying a provari or a GG thinking you're getting a better deal from the classifieds....scammers are OUT THERE....these rules protect YOU and EVERYONE ELSE on this forum.

Check the join date. That there is a reader.

rdgriff, you MUST have input on a few things after over a year. Even just saying "welcome" to newbies will get you your minimum posts.

oh, so sorry that i screwed that up about him being a new guy.

....but the rules are still here to protect him and everyone else here. rules are made for a reason...no one wants to get scammed, no one wants out of 100 bucks or 10 bucks, so even if he isn't a "new guy" to the forum, he has no right to go prancing about spouting off about how bad the rules are because he doesn't want to say hi to 18 more people.

I definitely agree, the rules are to protect everyone, if they weren't there this place would be full of scamming.

Yes, there should be rules, I agree. But if you have people that are willing to attach their verified 7 year old pay pal account, or 100 plus positive ebay account to it. That should be sufficient as well. Do you agree.

i'll give you flames twice as bad since you are a real new guy....

do you understand that some people have LOST money in the classifieds before the verification/post limit system was in place, which is why the rules were created.

following and conforming to the rules prevents you from getting flamed here in this thread, and it prevents other people from ripping you off...and it prevents YOU from ripping us off, no one wants to lose money, i'd be upset if i lost ten bucks in a bar bet much less here trying to purchase goods....you want in the classifieds follow the rules and you'll be fine, go post gibberish in a few threads, say hi to some noobs, it REALLY isn't that hard to get 20 posts, you can get the post count in about ten minutes....i really don't see any excuse for you guys that want to bend the rules other than laziness.

Howdy folks,

I understand why the rules are in place, not really sure if I agree with all of them, but I understand that they are there to protect, buyers ands sellers. I'm not a seller on eBay, but have purchased an item or two. I am a member of PayPal, but don't remember ever using it. I needed to have accts for both for a class I'm taking. I don't have access myself, even though I would like to have it, but the idea of a central database somewhere as my NET ID is not very pleasing to me. And yeah, I know all the stuff about I'm out there in a million places etc, etc. I have certs in A+, Net+, mcs , mcsa, Mcse, and ccna, so I know. No need to try to fill me in.

Elmattis....the OP has ever right in the world to question the rules. He is a member here just like you and me and everyone else. He did it without ranting and raving, didn't try to belittle anyone, did it more respectfully than you did in your reply to him. I hate to put it this way, but IMHO, you jumped the gun and owe an apology to him for that statement, about prancing about and spouting off.

On that note, I tend to doubt the rules would/will get changed, because they are there to protect as many folks as they can and at the moment, there's nothing better. I hope, in the future, there maybe a few more ways to obtain access, and no, I haven't checked on another ways at this point.

Sincerely,

Big Mac
