I know this is probably the wrong place but have no idea where to ask a question about it.

I have just did my first purchase on the classies but was wondering what is the process to sell something. When i do sell something would the buyer just send the money associated with my Paypal account? And would it be deposited in my Paypal account or my bank account?

I have only used Paypal to buy things off of Ebay so really clueless about the selling part.

You can actually send an invoice to the person who purchases your gear via Paypal and they simply pay the invoice. Or vice versa of course.

If you sell something on the classifieds it is customary to draw a picture of a clown, and put it in with the item when you ship it.

Please make sure all clown drawings are both whimsical and delightful as is customary.

I've never been charged a fee for transferring funds from paypal to my bank account.

Just let the buyer pay you directly into Paypal. I have never been asked to do an invoice except once in 2+ years.

You, the seller, will pay the Paypal fee which is 2.9% + 0.30 on the item. So price accordingly.

then, use paypal shipping to print out a mailing label w/tracking, (pay the postage out of your paypal account) and PM your buyer a tracking number, etc.

You can then withdraw funds to your bank account, personally, I would not ........ALWAYS wait until your buyer is satisfied, and has received the item, otherwise, you may have to refund etc. and then pull from your bank, etc. which will make the whole transaction take a lot longer to close out.

Then you use the etrader feedback system ....buyer leaves FB for you, you leave FB for them, etc. That is how you develop a trustworthy reputation here on eCF

Ummm...yeah I was wrong kinda but this is still sound advice if you ever need to arrange a Paypal payment .

And at least I know the "clown" policy now so I don't forget that...I mean who wants to look like a doof, huh?

PayPal is very simple to use. If you sell something via the classifieds you will give them your PayPal email account and they will send you the money.

The other way you can do it is send an invoice to them. You will need their email to do this.

Also others have mentioned that you should not mention electronic cigarette or related materials in the invoice. PayPal can and will shut down your account and hold the funds for up to 90 days.

Once the person has paid you can withdrawal the money into your bank account. It takes anywhere from 3 to 7 business days to get in there.
