Okay So been using my CE5 for a couple weeks now, and yesterday it started tasting bad, burnt, so i took it apart and try to clean the adomizer, i stuck it in some vodka, then took my syringe and stuck the tip in the end of the adomizer and shot vodka through it, then i did the same thing with some warm water, i then blew on it with my mouth and let it dry for a little while. i put back together and put juice in it but it still taste like burnt taste.

I had gotten some wick couple weeks ago was going to replace wicks when got old and broken, but found out fast you can't replace wick w/o replacing the coil, and I do not think im up to winding coils, I noticed yesterday on fast tech they sell coils already wrapped around the wicks, anyone used these pre made ones are they worth it?

Also I thought all CE5's were the same, but I see on fastech some are rebuildible and some aren't my wife wanted the colored CE4's so we ordered some but i know it be weeks before I get them, trying to get mine working right

any advice??

several hours? I thought most just flushed them out. but does this really make them get clean again? mine looks black down on the top of the coil

Yes mine well the two I have are rebuildible, But the ones on fasttech are not, maybe there just miss labeled on fastech, maybe there all ce4;s and my wife has a ce4 the glass doesn't unscrew from hers.

If you've been using it for a couple of weeks, just washing it out isn't really going to clean it. You will have to do a dry burn to burn off all the old juice that has burnt to the coil.

How long does that take? I was dry burning, that's why i know it had nasty smell/taste coming off it. but it seems liked it wasn't getting better.
Do you let the coil cool during the burning process? I was holding the button until the over protection circuit kicked it off then i was waiting a few secs then doing it again.

I don't have a CE5 but when I clean my EVOD or Vivi Nova heads, I dry burn first (firing for about 5 second intervals while blowing into the coils), then once the coils burn away all of the black gunk and quit emitting a burnt smelling smoke, THEN I will soak them in vodka for a while to clean out the remaining residue. The key is to dry burn until the coils are clean.

I hold mine under HOT running water to wash off the juice. Then I remove the stem and flavor wicks. Set the flavor wicks aside or throw away if you are going to replace them. Attach the coil unit to your battery. Hold the button down to a count of 5. Release the fire button. Blow on the coil to help cool it. Keep repeating this until your coils and wick look clean. I consider mine clean when the coil glows red before I reach the count of 5.

Definitely let it cool between dry burns or you will pop your coil..

There are already some good recommendations already.. soak in vodka or preferably pure grain alcohol and soak it over night... rinse out then dry burn..

In order to get rid of the burnt taste the coil needs to be clean.. that means no more black stuff around the coil. Dry burn it until it is preferably white...

It is much easier if you do this on a regular basis instead of waiting for a few weeks....

Thanks everyone.
If i was to remove the wick and coil, I would just replace, I am just trying to clean it w/o having to replace the coil or wicks

You will find 2 little pieces of wick laying on top of your coil. Those are the ones I am talking about. There is no need to remove the coil wrapped piece of wick. When you do your dry burn it will return to white.

Depending on how gunked up it was, you may need several iterations of washing and dry burning to clean the coil properly, and yes... you run the risk of popping the coil in the process.

CE5's are rebuildable.

CE4's are not.

You can tell the difference easily--the CE5's base is knurled and will screw out. The CE4 has no means of removing the base, stem and coil assembly. They are intended to be disposable but if you clean them regularly, you can get many weeks of use out of a very cheap piece of equipment.

Edit to add: There were some vendors selling a different version of the CE4. One has long wicks. The others don't have much wick at all, just pigtails like the BCC wicks. All rebuildable CE5's have the long wicks and the knurled, removable base.

I know there two separate pieces of wick, but if the top one isn't around the coil I would be surprised. i don't want to break the wicks, since i am down to my last clearmizer I might fool with it when I get another one I can use.
