I'm currently experiencing a dilemma . For a long time I have used the CE2's, really like them and still use them, but I've re-discovered the Boge's and really like them now as well. Think the earlier versions I purchased elsewhere weren't as good as what Stormy is offering now.
Cleaning the CE2's is not a problem..... I have that system down pat. But, when it comes to the Boge's, I'm getting frustrated. I get roughly a week or better before I feel they need to be "degunked" and that's when the trouble starts. I've been putting them in hot or boiling water for short periods and blowing them out between "baths" -- rinsing and repeating several times. Then let them either dry overnight or put them in the oven on a very low temp for a few minutes. Don't want to damage the seal between the pos and neg terminals. The filling is nice and white, but it is a mess after they get their bath. I have a terrible time finding the center tube to make sure it's clear and as I try to move the polyfill around, I make more of a mess.
Does some kind soul have any suggestions for me? I'm on the verge of a major carto shift if I can just figure out how to clean them properly and not have them looking like I took a hair teasing tool to the polyfill.
I understand they are considered disposable and a week plus use is great, but being the cheap skate I am, I want to get as much mileage from them as possible.
I'm open to any tips or advice Boge users are willing to offer. Thanks so much in advance and I wish everyone a very pleasant Holiday Season..... horton -- out
