Cleaning an 808 battery

How would i go about cleaning out the gunk formed around the contact point on the battery?

This is resulted from leaks from a G4 into the battery end. Stupid ....ty cartos.

I tried a toothpick, but it just doesnt pick up any of the gunk...

Essentially, i need to know if it's ok to pour water on the battery connector end? It's a manual battery, so i suppose any electrical circuit is inactive as long as the button isnt pressed.

Obviously it would require a proper drying period before use afterwards.

how about rubbing alcohol? I have not had too much trouble with that- except for it getting in the grooves. For that I used a toothpick with a piece of damp tissue on the end, but it did not work that well because the toothpick kept breaking. you may want to ask in the kr808d forum

I use an old toothbrush. Rubbing alcohol should be okay if it's a manual battery. Maybe you could dip a toothbrush in rubbing alcohol and use that.

Hi MattB,

Here is a video on how to clean kr808d-1 batterys, both auto and manual. Though the batteries featured are V4L, the cleaning method will work with any kr808.
