Hard draw on older battery

I just ordered a new Volt battery just to have a spare. I noticed that the new battery is much easier/smoother to draw on than the older one. I believe I remember the old one being that smooth when it was new too. I tried both using a brand new carto and the difference was night and day, the brand new battery gave a much smoother draw. I clean the batteries with a toothpick but it doesn't seem to help. Is there some way I can clean the battery different to get the smooth draw back.

You can dip a Qtip in grain alcohol and swab out the contacts. I do that and it cleans them really well. Also, you just may a voltage drop caused by the age of the battery. Try cleaning it first.

i have the same problem OP, not sure if you're using sealed or sealed autos but even the "sealed" auto ones seem to have some way of getting gunk down in them and as of yet i haven't found a way to fix the problem, cleaning the contacts didn't do a thing to solve the issue.

I use the Volt at the moment, and I think it is the threading. I think the threading gets ever so slightly "broken in" and makes for a stiffer draw. My Volt passthrough has a much stiffer draw than my batteries do, probably because I use it all the time. Just my
