Cleaning battery / Bad taste

Hello, I was wondering if anyone has any idea what could cause this.
I was cleaning my halo g6 battery off with a paper towell and a paperclip to remove all the gunk. After I was done I was pulling in bigger vapes, but there is now a horrible taste even if I change out the cartomizers. It happens with both my batteries that I cleaned. It has a metal taste to it and it kind of burns my nose and throat. If anyone has any idea of what happened or how to fix it that would be great.

Sounds very strange indeed, don't think anything you would do to a battery would change the flavor of your vape.

Are you sure it's your battery and not your cartomizer? I clean my batteries with some iso alcohol before I put them on the charger.

I think it is better wipe the adapter with alcohol, and dry thoroughly.
And still the battery is very hot, stop using it for safety.

It could be a dry/burnt carto taste. If you were using an underpowered battery (dirty), and then cleaned it- you would be using more power- then the carto that tasted fine b4, might have been low on juice and was ok on the low powered battery, is now getting scorched with full power.

Still shouldn't be a metal taste..........what did you use to clean- a fluid?

I guess it all depends on what you cleaned your batteries with. You should not experience any unpleasant taste.

Thats what I was thinking... I didnt think that cleaning the gunk off the battery would do anything but help improve it. I know it's not the cartomizers just due to the fact I have 5 of them that are just a week old and I also tried a fresh one but for some reason I am unable to pull any vape out of it at all, almost as if its plugged. I read in another post that someone else was having a simulair isssue with the halo g6 and referred to the taste as tasting like a penny.

I didnt use anything to clean it with other than a dry paper towell and a paperclip, I cleaned them once before about 3 weeks ago and noticed the same thing then, but not as bad at all. as of right now with the same carto on different batteries one tastes tolerable and the other is very nasty

You might have pushed the center pin on the cartomizer or the battery in when you cleaned it. It may not be making contact with the battery. Unbend a paperclip and put it in the center hole of the carto and try to pull it out slightly. Or pull the center of the battery up slightly. Be very careful though because you can kill your battery if you aren't careful. Can you see through the carto? Maybe the center of the carto is clogged.

Take a sewing needle and insert it into the airway...eye first until you meet resistance, then go through the other end. Sometimes, the airhole collapses. Doing this should help it.
