Cleaning carmotizers

Hi everyone. What is the fastest, easiest, and most effective way to clean a carmotizer? I put some juice in one of my large ones last night and it gunked it all up, ruining it for now. I was told they could be cleaned to remove the clogging.

The consensus seems to be hot water or vodka. I use vodka.

I have heard to use denatured Alcohol to clean them

I use hot water and then pure grain alcohol (PGA). The syringe method makes things go a lot faster by forcing the liquid through and also helping to dry them quicker.

You can get this for your syringe. It allows you to force warm/ hot water through the carto. Works pretty well and is 510 threaded.

I use warm/ hot water for the carto and alcohol for the syringe operator. lol

Hot water should do a pretty good job. The alcohol just helps to get some of the gunk off the coil.

No no no no no. Denatured alcohol is extremely poisonous and should never be used to clean your gear. Use pure grain alcohol (such as Everclear) instead.

It amazed me that running this juice only once through the carto knocked it out of commission. Cheap juice?

And how long should I let it dry to see if the cleaning worked. I have run warm/hot water through it about 5 times. Thanks for everyone's help by the way.

I'm glad someone said it! I didn't want to be a party pooper, but they're never quite the same after you've cleaned them.

The main reason I want to clean it is A) I am running short of them and B) I use the XXXXL Smok ones at about $3 each. I hate to just throw it away after one use.

i buy them 10 or 15 boxes at a time (Boge LR) use them for up to a week with Bobas Bounty very thick and gunky then i toss them. have tried cleaning them but there's nothing better than a freshly filled new carto in my tank.

Hot water alone will get the old juice out, but may not do a whole lot for cleaning the coil. The main reason I like to use alcohol is that it speeds up the drying process. Any water left in the carto will have a negative effect on the flavor.
