I make my own juice and i was wondering if it is possible to "clean" the old flavor out of a cartomizer before refilling? I dont want my watermelon tasting like chocolate.. well now i think of it that does sound good but you get the idea!

Id assume a PGA flush would work, but ive got no idea how to internals of the carts work. any suggestions?

Water will work. PGA will work too, it costs more than water though.

To clean flavors (I don't care who says EverClear sucks, they can bite me):
#1: rinse with hot water under the tap, rinse, blow, rinse, blow (from the mouthpiece end, out the battery connection end) Until you smell no more "flavor" (That makes sense right?)

#2: drop it in a jar of EverClear, pure grain alcohol. Whatever the hell it is, for me it completely gets rid of any prior flavors and no need to dry with hair dryer or "let sit over night"

#3: Again, with tweezers, take it out of the jar, pat with a paper towel. Blow into the sink the same way you did when you had ran it under the tap. Blow blow blow until no more liquid comes out. Blow one more time, pat battery end dry with paper towel.

#4: Fill, enjoy!

I swear that almost sounded like pr0n

Thanks for this GC! I'm going to have to find some EverClear. I looked for it at my local grocery store but couldn't find it. I'll hit up a liquor store this weekend.

PS. you have pr0n on the mind huh? =)

What can you recommend other than Everclear? I can't get it in New Hampshire!

If you're getting something purely for this purpose, check if you can get rubbing alcohol, it may be cheaper and more effective. I prefer vodka/everclear cause it's multi purpose :p
I guess you could drink rubbing alcohol, but pretty sure that's not too bright an idea :p
Edit: just checked, for completeness sakes. don't even try drinking it if it contains methanol.
This means that while it's still fine for cleaning carts, you want to leave them overnight so it all evaporates, or find rubbing alcohol that doesn't contain methyl alcohol (methanol)

Though a prior post mentioned vodka, I'd also suggest you look for Spirytus, which is basically the same as Everclear, but seems to be stocked in more places. Barring that, the cheapest vodka around will work, just make sure to give your carts a bit more time to dry out.

Ok so I just fully cleaned my first cart after filling it about 6 times already.
I took the mouth piece and rubber O-ring out and rinsed it under warm water, then blew through the mouth piece end over a paper towel till very little brownish color came out, rinsed it again and repeated till no color came out. Blew a bit more to dry it out then dripped about 10 drops of red cow in it, used the rubber cap that it came with and plunged it a bit, dripped 10 more drops in, plunged it again, then dripped 7 more drops before it looked saturated and closed it up. A total of 27 DROPS... HOLY COW!!!! Tastes like a new cart and no gurgling either.

So not only has this cart been filled 7 times but after cleaning it I got 27 drops in it and it tastes just like a new pre-filled cart. Hope this works again and again.

I think I might make a video on this and post it for people to see how I did it and to see if anyone has any advice for me.

I use a whopping big syringe i got off ebay with a 20ga needle (18 would be better) and the hottest water i can muster, mister!

Slip the needle in beside the batting down to the bottom, and mash it...any flavor remaining is typically hosed right out...with the exception of insanely stubborn flavors like menthol and mint oil which is fine cause thats all i put back in those particular carts anyhow. most everything else exits quietly.

Soaking them in the aforementioned quite hot water beforehand doesnt hurt either..but i stop short of boiling them cause i fear the stickers would slip off..but nice hot volcanic edition water and a horse needle works wonders

If you fear sharp objects, you can get syringes used for filling printer ink carts that are blunt..just remember 20ga or larger needle or it'll be like tryin to blow a watermellon through a straw to get water in any volume through it

I put 2 pans of water on to boil in one I use some of my clean dish water that has a bit of bleach and dish soap, ( About 2 capfuls of bleach to a whole sink or water) and one plain clean water. I take a small container , a small strainer and a spoon, Boil the water turn off and then clean cartos.
I put my cartos in the small container pour in some soapywater swirls with sppoon for a bit rinse in sieve repeat with clean boiling hot water, then soapy then clean till it is all gone then I run them under warm water of faucet for a few seconds each, strain, then take a bit of paper towel and twist it up and stick it in end after 5 mins they are all dry, clean and I have no previos flavor! Not sure if soapy/ bleach water is safe but it kills germs from letting people (borrow) and I dont have to worry about vaping any residue as I rinse this all out well!
