hi gang,
I just Re-upped on a Grand; couldn't wait another day (Rob should have some new ones up), got one last week from the classies. Problem is the owner used what smells like pipe or cigar tobacco and i do NOT vape tobacco at all...
It isn't very clean, and I'm not mad, as i figure it will be pretty easy to clean out the connector into the tube. Do I just use hot water? Alcohol?

thanks for any suggestions.

Uke

I had a woodville that came to me like that. Whatever juice they were using smelt like rubber cement. I think it was Bobas but I could be wrong. Now I always ask in my classies response what was the juice in it. A grand should loose its smell unless it was horrible. For my piece of mind I and 20 bucks + shipping I would send it to Rob for new guts. He did a great job on a broken mini I bought off the classifieds. How in the world do you break the top battery connection in a mini?

You mash the button. As others have pointed out...every mod has its threshold for how much pressure you need to use to press the button and it makes contact with the battery. The variables are the state of cleanliness, what kind of battery you are using and how much charge is in the battery. Mind you, if the battery is low on charge...pressing the button harder does not make it work better.

wow, what a great idea and service!
you know i'm a little bit sad about it; although i haven't taken the time to clean it yet... this is a great alternative; better than passing it back on the market.
The classies are like a "box of chocolates"....

I have purchased at least 30 REO's from the classy's. Some needed a good cleaning. Two went straight to Robert. I am very pleased at the percentage that were ready to vape.

You can always know that Robert will fix up any REO and it will work as new. If the selling price is fair an extra $10 or $20 for a repair can be factored in.

I see the Grands are still unavailable on site; so i don't feel too bad.
Hey Rob, I would love to send my Grand in for some RnR... !
Ms Nerak, sounds like you have a place in your heart for wayward Reo's - a Reo Shelter.

Yep, I sure do. Just picked up #41 last night. I think only 7 of those were new. Love the quality and know it doesn't matter if it is one of the original REO's or the newest Robert will make sure they will all work just perfect! Two original Wood REO's now mine, can't wait to get them home!

Nice !
In Hawaii we have about 65 degress humidity or so, avg... i've had trouble with a wood b/f... but a different model; it had a top cap and bottom cap, with the sides kind of wrapped around. The sides would always come off the caps; seems like the wrap would give way.
I wonder if Rob's woodies are more resistant to that kind of thing. i know 65 degrees is not the worst in the nation but still, i've shied away from wood... thus the Grand/Mini metals.

The doors on my wood REO's will get tighter with an increase in humidity. The REO's only have two pieces, body and door. The door can be sanded so it will slide easy. But I find in low humidity it is a little loose.

And less dense woods are more suseptible to warping than the higher density. So woods like cocobolo, purplehart and ebony would be a better choice than the lighter more porous woods like redwood...and most of the burls. I live in a typically wet area and only one of mine has had a door warp on me...it was a maple burl. The rest of them have been fine. :)

Hello ukeman yes send your mod in I will send it back brand new on the inside anyways . My wood mods would work for you were others have failed if you decide to buy a wood mod from me let me no before I ship the unit I can adjust the door before it leaves the shop. I am not saying the door wont warp that can happen to any wood mod in just about any climate but it wouldn't effect how the mod vaped or make the mod unusable
