rubbing alcohol a possibility?

If not a very hot soak with lots of suds, use a tooth brush and squirt bottle of soap to blow out the air holes if you can. Also make sure to dissasemble it totally, take the gaskets out, etc (12 total pieces, dont forget the screws).

Careful to make sure you get it dry quick, my fogger likes to build up a tiny bit of surface rust on the machined threads, they didnt use the highest of quality SS in the ver 4.3 or 4.4 ( had this happen to both of mine)

let it soak in the rubbing alcohol for a bit, and take out the screws too. swirl all the parts around in some bowl with a tooth brush or something, then just rinse with some more of that distilled water to get the rubbing alcohol off.

With new gear you really need to have either some 50% or higher booze around or rubbing alcohol, just to help break down any machine oil left over.

p.s. dawn works better than other dish soaps, for breaking down oils, btw.

Rubbing alcohol with paper towels and q-tips, making sure you get all the threads, post holes, and nooks and crannies.
O-rings are hardier than you think. As long as you don't pull them out with a knife, you should be okay. Keeping the rings dry makes it easier to remove IMO than if they're already wet with water or juice or something.
After the good rubbing with rubbing alcohol, a damp paper towel (and maybe some more qtips) and a good wipe to make sure the last of the gunk and alcohol is gone.

I don't know why people think that soaking a new atty is going to clean it. There might be some misconception about metal and floating... it doesn't. Most of the gunk you find in a new atty is metal shavings with machine oil/lubricant holding it together. You have to agitate it and even pick it out with a toothpick sometimes. Soaking it in soapy water does not equate to magic.
(unless you're a pony with a rainbow tail that... okay I'll stop)

Good luck with the cleaning and I hope the bad taste goes away!

to ecf sketchness. Glad to have you here. Just a wonderful place to be as far as I am concerned.

If you do use rubbing alcohol, I would suggest using the 91% type. I personally prefer Everclear. Cheap Vodka is also good to use. Soak, warm water rinse and air dry. Pretty simple. This is also the method I use to use to get stubborn odors out of my atomizers. I ended up preferring the glass atomizers because I felt like I could get then cleaner without have any residual smells. Good luck to you and happy vaping.

Thanks everyone, even smarty pants amtseung ;). As far as shavings go the fogger was super clean. Did mouthwash and then hot soapy water with a toothbrush and a good rinse. Still had an aftertaste. Soaked again in alcohol and rinsed in distilled water. Dried it and will let it air out over night. Sucks because I wicked it pretty well. At least I used some plain vg to test it so out zero good juice.
