Before I begin my latest venture since I've started vaping, I figured I'd drop by here. I've got some tanks I want to clean out, but honestly don't know what I'm doing. I've got a Kanger T3S and an Aspire CE5 BDC. I want to use new flavors but hate flavor overlap, so I was going to clean it out when I suddenly realized... I don't know ... I'm doing!!! :D So I'd like to ask what methods I should use to get these things cleaned out as best I can. Is there anything specific I need to do with the coils? I figure once I've learned to do this properly, I'll be ready to attempt coil rebuilds!

Also, kind of off topic here... but you know how you're not supposed to let a clearomizer get lower than a certain point? What happens if you run out of the e-liquid you were using in it? Do you just toss another liquid in there on top of it? Is there a safe way to dispose of leftover juice? (from inside the tank)

There are several ways.

Put it in alcohol for 24 hours, you can also use citric acid or NaHCO3, you can buy all of these in all supermarkets and they aren't harmful to you, rinse in hot water after all of these of course.

Most plastic clearos are glued together. As alcohol is known to dissolve glue, I'd be concerned with using it...

I'd be awful apprehensive on the 24 hour soak as well. The Evods I have, I've had for 6 months. I soak them in 70% rubbing alcohol for about 10 minutes or so and swish around gently. Completely rinse with cold water and air dry. I also use compressed air to speed the process.

I used to use canned air, but then heard there is an additive in it to make it taste bad- I guess kids were huffing it, so I didn't want the bad taste to transfer to the clearo. I never noticed a bad taste, but...

Huffing canned air.....Hmmmm. Isn't regular air good enough?? :D

well, normal air is obviously not good enough for us either.... we're huffing nicotine!
just sayin'

Huffing, def... breathing fumes in to get high........ the act of putting a splash of solvent or gasoline in a bag and repeatedly breathing in and out of the bag........ie there were no good drugs in this town, so Sam took to hugging acetone........

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and giving me some tried and true methods. I spent a good chunk on Youtube and I'm getting ready to clean one of my T3S, I'll let you guys know how it goes when I get a chance lol!!

I'm curious to know what method you use and what results you get. I've just purchased a dozen T3S clearos and a couple of packs of spare coils which should arrive in the mail any day now, and I'd like to keep them going for while so this info will come in handy :)

This is great ... Thanks! Maybe there's a way after all to get more mileage outta these coils!

I know, right??? And I'm a super cheap @$$ so hey!

I've been rotating 3 EVOD tanks with about 5 different coils (I accidentally torched one that I have no snowball's chance in hell of reusing), and I have not had to get rid of one yet. I vape pretty steadily when I'm home at night - so about $9/5pk serves me quite well.

I wash with hot water and blow thru all angles of everything. Then refill (I'm impatient). Guess what PG and VG have in them? Dihydrogen Monoxide, so no need to wait before refilling. Fill and go, but that's just me....

Took me a 1/2 second - Dihydrogen Monoxide - :)
