CDDZ, You hit a chrome finish with sand paper and you get ruined chrome. Windex should keep the chrome nice and shiny...A little polish wouldn't hurt either..but no sand paper...period...Raw aluminum or Stainless only...
That paper is 3M wet or dry.. Works much better if the paper is pre-soaked in water for 15 minutes prior to use. A drop of regular dish liquid should be added to the water. Sand paper takes off too much material{aluminum} for regular cleaning...Just look at the paper in the video...all that dust was once a SB.. I'd stick with 3M...but would switch to Scotch Brite Pads. Grit is defined by color and in order the roughest to the finest grit: Burgandy, Gray, Gold. They also make green and white but basically those three colors are what we use. Any good auto parts should stock the pads and will sell you a single pad. Scotch Brite is used to get a brushed finish. It cleans better, faster and takes off less aluminum....

Ding! Ding! Ding! What El Dee said.

DaMulta, you should put huge warnings on your post and video that you are working on an UNplated aluminum SB... You KNOW someone is going to hit their plated SB or Omega with 600 grit and be asking how to get the polish back...
I said in the video it was for old school SB lol.....I even showed the cap underneath. I don't know if SB DBSB(like mine) are all plated now.

This really only should be used when you want to get good scratches out of it........cause after a while it would start to maybe eat into the switch area....Not a deal breaker for me though cause it would just get sanded down to match when it hits that point.....
