Cleaning the rubber cartomizer ends

I've searched all over with no real result. I've tried 90% isopropyl alcohol and it doesn't do anything to clean the stains or smell. I'm able to clean and dry my cartomizers like new, but just can't get those rubber plugs clean!

Suggestions?

Thanks

Toss them in near boiling water, couple of rounds of soaking, or perhaps soak in some hydrogen peroxide (the standard stuff that is used for minor cuts and as a gargle).

I don't think I would want to try any stronger/different chemicals, due to the possibility of the caps retaining some of whatever they get soaked in.

Final choice, leave them off and tailpipe -- that's what I'm doing now on most of my cartos, good hit.

Tried the near boiling water before with no result, Peroxide is something I'll try.

Exactly, that's why I haven't done bleach yet, I'm sure it will retain that smell.

I like the caps off too. lol but sometimes I'll need them after I put in a few drops in.
