I was never a big smoker in my house, usually went out in the garage. But after I divorced and the non- smoker moved out I would occasionally smoke in the house. Yesterday I was cleaning the glass off a big painting and I couldn't believe all the tar and cig smoke residue coming off:shock:
It just brought home all the junk I used to fill my lungs with!
When I move I am definitely going to try to find a 'smoke free' place!
And to think I used to hate those two words:D

Hubby and I live with my mom... and we can't tell her no smoking in her own house - which meant that I could smoke indoors when we moved in. (Even non smoking hubby agreed that me going outside to smoke when Mom was puffing away in the living room was just silly.) She did agree, however, not to smoke in the master bedroom n bathroom (which she gave to us, but the shower in the other bathroom doesn't work so she uses ours.)

I fully believe that this is what added 1/2 a pack to my almost pack a day habit.

I also believe that this is why I still "need" my 1-2 analogs a day. *sigh*

Mom is vaping too, so her analog consumption has dropped. It's helping...

But there is still gonna be cig-scent everywhere. :(

Singing..I hear you! Mike, Mom and I smoked in the house..when I went to E-cigs..it was rough! Mike vapes sometimes..it does help. He trys not to smoke near me. To tell the truth..it doesn't matter any more, I don't like the smell!

I still have lots of friends who smoke (although they are considering vaping as an alternative. It's usually the flavor that gets em seriously considering it) and the smell of fresh cigarette smoke doesn't bother me. Doesn't do a thing for me either, but...

It's the stale cigarette smell that makes my stomach twitch... or when one of the "smoker outposts" in the smoking area outside (which I still have to use, per HR, Hoping this will change as more people move to vaping) decides that it wants to start smoldering instead of snuffing out the butts.

On the plus side - being required to vape in the smoker's pavilion means that more folks are getting exposed to the idea of vaping... and is the reason I go through V4L business cards so quickly!

I went through that stinky, gunky clean up in a previous apartment I lived in. There was no convenient place to smoke outdoors so I smoked indoors. Eventually when I had to move I ended up cleaning yellow gunk off the tv, the curtains... ugh! And that was all despite being .... about having ventilation! I vowed then that I was never gonna smoke inside my own place again and never did.

One of my biggest perks for quitting smoking is not having the smell in my hair and clothes and not having to worry about smelling up the house on a cold day!

Fabreeze is your friend!

:::twitches::: You said Fa - - bre - -eze! :::shakes::: ArgH! I'm soo allergic to this stuff; hives all over :(

I've found that vinegar is your friend! Not only for taking odors out of the air, but dilute the vinegar 50/50 with water and spray on couches/walls/windows etc. It still requires a bit of elbow grease on wall and windows but really does get the stain and smell out. Using a microfiber cloth really helps to eliminate alot of scrubbing as well.
