Hello Mav

There are many ways to clean the cartos and lots of us do. I boil them several times and put them in the sun to dry, but not sure at all that is the best way to do it. THere are several good videos that show you exactly how to do it and at least one company that I have seen that has a "plunger device" for about $15 that you can use that looks pretty darned good, but I have not tried this as yet. You can do a simple search here... at top of page, right side, see the search button......cleaning cartridges and I bet you get some good info. In any case, I am sure some of the experts will be in soon to help you more.

Happy vaping,
Morri

You can take a syringe and needle and flush the carto with hot water several times til the water runs clear and then boil it if you want to . Blow the water out into a paper towel and then you can put it in the oven on low for an hour or so to dry it out :) I used to try to clean mine but my cartos last so long now that I feel that I've gotten my money's worth our of them. I completely understand the desire to be frugal :)

I saw one video where a guy took a turkey baster with hot water and the carto fit right on the end and flushed it out. Then soaked in alcohol. I tried it and it seemed to work pretty good. I boiled once and didn't do much. I could still see color in the carto. Maybe a combo of both. this would be worth while if you did a bunch at a time.. remember youtube is your friend..

My main man Kemosabe told me about this one real simple method that gets the carto, almost, entirely empty without the hassle of washing and waiting. It is the reverse taryn spin. It can either be rigged to just let the juice fly out, outside obviously, or to catch the juice in a condom. I have used both ways, when I actually used cartos, and either let one juice fly or caught another in a condom that was taped to the open end of the carto. I was completely amazed by how well it worked. note***some flavors will essentially get trapped in the poly fill and will not come out, like cinnamon, without washing...heck, cinnamon barely comes out with washing.

If you use the turkey baster take the bulb off and drop the carto in the tube thread end towards the spray end of the baster. Replace the basters bulb and start sucking up the boiling water from a pan and then spray it out into the sink. Use clean water for each run so you don't run juicy water threw the carto.

I've done the boil, dump out water, and repeat process until the boiled off steam no longer has a scent with ok luck. I recently started doing something slightly different. I first flush the cartos with an alcohol solution. It seems this helps break up all of the gunk. A 30 mL e-Liquid container with a liberal spraying head works fine. I flush until the solution coming out runs clear, let it set for a while, and then do the boiling process. This seems to reduce that initial 'burnt' taste at first. Some people run the cartos dry. Personally, I put them in the oven on Warm for a couple of hours (it's about 100 degrees) and that dries them. I would also NOT put the silicone caps back on them because if not quite all has dried, you are setting the stage for mold buildup.

I use hot water and a syringe to get most of it out and then boil mine, repeatedly!, until the water boils clear. Then put rolled up paper towels to help draw out the water and leave overnight. I also have some dental picks (for people with braces) that looks like a very small baby bottle brush and that can be used to clean out the centre of the cartos.

Pbusardo has a great video on how to tell that your water is boiling clean and there is no left over "gunk" in your cartos. I keep them as my spares in case I get desperate or botch a bunch of new cartos.
