I've been using isopropyl alcohol and it works great and dries off very fast. Many here do not seem to recommend it, but I'm comfortable with it. I've read the MSDS, seen it used in the medical industry, and used it for a multitude of things my entire life. Whatever molecules remain in my wick after air drying to completion do not concern me. It's much cheaper than vodka, dries more quickly, cleans all flavor out of the device, and I always have some in the house.

Welcome to ECF! By topper, I believe he meant what type of Clearamizer, atty, etc you are using - IE Protank, Evod, ... to vape your e-juice. So he could give more specific cleaning tips.

Yup. Lots of variety in things we can put on top of our batteries, and I get really tired of "clearo, carto, dripper, or whatever"... so Topper seems to be, at least for me, an easy to type generic that covers all.

Why isn't it recommended? I've been using alcohol instead of vodka:blink:

Most of what I've read is about it being harmful to ingest, which of course it is, and the fact that the device is being soaked in it then being used to put vapor inside of your body. I get it, and it is reasonable that ethanol would be safer. I don't think there is any risk though when you let your stuff properly dry off, and iso dries much faster for me (and its cheaper) than ethanol.

I have three mini protank 2's in rotation. I thoroughly rinse my tanks and heads after each use. If I need to refill the tank immediately, take the tank apart completely and dry it. I then put the atty on the base and dry burn it a couple of times to dry the wicks.

If don't need to use the tank immediately, I don't fully disassemble the tank and let it air dry. This way I don't have to put the orings sealing the glass under undue compression cycles. It also minimizes the possibility of me doing something stupid and breaking the glass.

I usually hot water rinse, dry burn, soak in isopropyl to remove burnt or previous flavorings, rinse, air dry. I have enough coil heads to use during that process because, as we all know, BACK UPS ARE IMPORTANT! :) Depending on what flavors I'm using, probably doing this twice a week. I have one in particular that is a total coil gunker, but so yummy. Though, I may have to part with that flavor. Happens too fast.
