I've been using Vivi Nova clearos with the replaceable heads. I notice a taste change (burnt plastic) fairly quickly when I know plenty of juice is getting to the coil. There is some type of material on each side of the coil, and I noticed it appears to be burning a bit and looks to be melting to the side some. I used tweezers to remove this material from a couple of my heads, and the vape taste is great now.

Does this material serve a purpose or is it okay to remove? If no purpose, why do they even put it there?

I believe it is used to insulate the coil from the metal surround.

Personally I take my out instantly with any new heads, haven't had any drama's, just make sure the coil isn't touching the metal sides.

Easy enough. You'd think they would use a material that wouldn't burn and melt like that. I suppose then they wouldn't sell heads as quickly.
