So im pretty much at my store all the time (run a small hole in the wall B&M in my local city) and well... I cant just sit here and vape constantly (well... almost hehe) so I start looking for projects.

Ever since I got my RDA I haven't hardly been able to stand using regular old clearomizers/attys/tanks/ ect ect... the draw is too tight and I cant seem to enjoy it! So I set out to make my go to (used to be) cheap everyday vape tank more enjoyable.

So I grabbed a ce6 and started looking at how I could improve airflow and therefore, vapor production. I drilled out the center "air" pins and the air "nozzle" up top as much as the design would allow... I drilled out the air tube at the bottom of the coil as well.

I then put two holes through the side of the ce6 "skirt" and through the 510 connection that the side skirt is covering. I also drilled holes in the 510 extension to continue the trend and aid in airflow (it choked the airflow without doing so)

I rebuilt the coil with some 32awg kanthal I had laying around with some 3mm silica... ending up at 2.0ohm. A 28awg "micro coil" (a micro coil is all you could really fit in the coil assembly on these) would have be ideal though @ 1.5-1.6 ohm. I have enough airflow now for a pretty hot coil after the modifications.

The coil is limiting my vapor production... but it is pretty impressive over the stock ce6s I have. Plus I love the draw. I will rebuild the coil with different wire when this one gets gunked up. The next thing to overcome will be getting it to wick fast enough to keep up (I cant figure that one out... besides keeping the tank overfull and the wick saturated)

Here are the results...

I can help you with liquid flow --

CE6's are my favorite all time atty

Its easy, just stubby the wicks to just touch the tank, its about 5-8mm of the metal post to just touch the tank glass
take a little wee piece of cotton conform it to make a circular loop around the stubby wicks while the tank is on
it only takes a very little amount of cotton almost hair follicle size it will later expand
it will feed so fast you will always blow a nice big cloud..

Methinks your also overachieved on the air-holing and are washing out the coils (heatsinking)
if you do not get a proper cloud and gurgle after halo stubby wick then you will need to lower your ohms..
my recommendation is 1.2-5 ohms in this config thats 4 or 5 tight wraps --its doesn't need a micro in a CE6 because of the post tube diameter
with a halo it will definitely gurgle if you are not hot enough now..

I have done similar things with evod, t3s and iclear coils by cutting just a bit of the plastic guard away and adding a strand or two of wick across the top of the existing (factory) coils and doubled or tripled my vapor and flavor. Seeing your pics of holes will make it even better. Thanks. I have learned that the line between freight train and gurgle, spit and leak is very, very fine!
Somehow quitting smoking has turned into a really great hobby! Vaping on...
