I cannot for the life of me figure out a good flavor. It seems like all of them I try have this base yukky taste to them. I've tried about 20 different flavors ranging from tabacco, coffee, strawberries and cherries. Under different PG/VG combinations.

I find it hard to believe that out of all those flavors that there is something wrong with them. It has to be something I am doing with my Clearomizers.

Some people from the forum have made recommendations but I think there is a basic concept I am missing with the Clearomizers, can anyone confirm ?

1. The rubber seal is important to be over the cup to keep it centered and away from the plastic tube (so over heating doesn't draw burn plastic flavor ?) ?

2. If I puff from it to much to often then the wick dries up and gives a dry flavorless taste ? (I am starting to take a couple of puffs off it and then shake it back forth to keep the juices saturating the wick)

3. Make sure the cup doesn't fill with fluid to prevent leaking ?

4. Minimize removal of the tube for cleaning so the plastic doesn't expand to cause leaks.

Can anyone speak to this ? I didn't like buying prefilled carts, because I didn't like filler and it was hard to tell (from my inexperience) when they needed refilled. So I thought the clearomizes where the best alternative.

I am thinking of trying a tank next or get an atomizer and just drip. I didn't want to drip at work so I hadn't gone that route at this point, plus I was worried that a drip would only last 2 or 3 puffs.

This is pretty discouraging.

I take the rubber seal off and the little plug at the end and use a drip tip with mine. I don't have any problems with them at all. Are you using the XL clearomizers? If so, sometimes you have to tilt them down so the juice will get on the ceramic part of the atty for it to wick, this usually happens after it is less than 1/2 full. I have not had to do that with the regular length clearomizers.

Yes, you need this to prevent leaking.

Or tip it upside down for a second.

3. Make sure the cup doesn't fill with fluid to prevent leaking ?

Basically, don't fill it past the bottom of the ceramic cup.

4. Minimize removal of the tube for cleaning so the plastic doesn't expand to cause leaks.

buy a box of BD syringes. Only BD brand will work. Cut the tube to match the clearomizer tube. Works like a charm and won't crack. I do this to all of mine. I hate the China junk tubes they send.

I'm a clearomizer fan. Also you need to understand that the lower the ohm rating, the hotter they burn. 2.8ohm is pretty good with the eGo. For higher voltages you need 3.0-3.2ohm rated ones. I vape an Infinity and Buzz at 4.7v all the time. I use 3.0-3.2ohm clearomizers. I haven't had any burnt flavorings yet.

Here is something else. I remove the center plug...the one over the ceramic cup. It's not easy to do but it can be done. Put a little juice on it and slowly work it off. Once you get it off, take a pointy pair of scissors and clip the 2 wick wedges a little bigger. Replace it gently or you'll crack the tube at the bottom. This helps the wicking issue.

Right on Hairball. I was thinking the same thing reading Binaryman's post. I use clearomizers and have gone to the MAP tank which I love and use 99% of the time. I use the Provari and a 3.2 ohm MAP tank. I have found in over a couple of months that there is definately a sweet spot. For me it is exactly 4.4V with the 3.2ohm atty. If I go to 4.5V the first couple of vapes is okay, but then I will start getting a little burning taste. Lower voltage is okay, but the vapor is a little too cool for me.
So since I am running a VV I am thinking that with a standard batt it has got to be hard to get the set-up right, but for most standard batts you are going to want a higher resistance CE2 like 2.8-3.0ohm.

Thanks for the feedback!! Come to think of it, I have been using 2.4ohm (XLs) at 3.7v. I will place an order for 2.8ohm XLs.

Also will do the syringe thing because I woke up this morning put in a fresh batch of liquid in my clearomizer (refilled twice before) and wouldn't you know it , by the time I got to work it had half leaked out.

I may go with the MAP tank once I find that perfect flavor. I am getting ready to get into DIY and am pretty excited. Ingredients should in over the next day or so.

Having the same issue as well, Using 3.0-3.2ohm XL's on a 5v GLV2. When filled, dripped on the bridge to get the wick going a little. Got some good flavor the 1st 2 hits then burning taste. Tipped it a little to get the juice all around but nothing. If i constantly have to drip on this thing, ill just stick to dripping with my atty.

Thanks for the tips guys!! I had ordered 5 packs of these things since they're always sold out. Tried my first one today and I got nothing but dry vapor and NO flavor. WTF??!! YUCK!! 20 drags later, I was ...... cuz I thought I just wasted $65 bucks!! I found this thread as well as a YouTube vid... did what y'all said and took the plugs out... then finally... lots of flavor. It's still not as good as dripping on an LR 510 atty, but the clearomizers are great when I'm out and about!! Thanks guys!!
