I tried posting in the Smokeless Image sub-forum first, but was told I may be able to get some good answers here as well.

I really do want to get the Volt Clearomizers, as I've been very satisfied with their products and customer service... However, they don't make any Clearomizers for the standard battery (I know the big ones will work, but they look goofy and aren't portable).

Basically, once they offer their fat batt's with more customization, I'll be getting that and their Clearomizers. But, for my PCC I'd like to make the switch to Clearomizers. Carto's are just too messy and a hassle.

I was recommended to the G4 Cartomizer (Basically a clearomizer, yes?).

I have already e-mailed them a few questions, but would like some input from this community.

Do they work well on the Volt battery or something compareable?

Are there any other Clearomizers I should check out for the 808D-1 threading?

Thanks for any information you can provide! I have enough cartomizers to last for awhile, but I'd like to have a smooth switch to clearomizers without all the wait and experimentation required for most products!

I'm confused and it's late, but I hope my answer helps a bit.

The clearomizer that Volt is now offering is a pretty much a Stardust clearomizer with the 808D threading. It will work on your standard 65mm and 78mm Volt batteries just fine. The only thing is, it won't exactly be soft on the eyes. If you're all for go and not show, it's a good choice. It fits and works pretty well for most.

As far as their X2 larger batteries. These are exactly the same as the eGo batteries, only with a 808D threading.

As far as portability of the X2. It's far more portable than you think. I have a eGo 650mAh battery and with a tank, it's just ever so barely longer than my 65mm standard volt batteries with a carto on it. Moreover, I found that the Volt setups were actually too portable, if it makes any sense, they somehow find themselves laying horizontal in my pockets, and by no means are the pockets in my AX Jeans big at all. I was always afraid that i'll lean on something and snap the threading off the battery or the carto off the threading if this happened. The eGo doesn't take much space in my pocket at all, with a 6ml tank. It fits very comfortably in my jean pockets, out of sight, right next to my cell phone (that sounds like a electrocution or waterlogged phone accident about to happen... lol).

Here's some pics I just took (well going to take as I write this lol)for reference:

I think I'll just try out one of the larger ones on a standard battery to see how I like them!

Also thanks for the pictures Shiryo! Those look fantastic!

However, could I potentially get a tank and use a Volt cartomizer with it? Like I said I'm still new to tanks and the like so I have a long ways to go to understand them, but I really do want to delve into the world of tank mods!

As for cartos in a tank system on your volt, you have two choices.

Smoktek makes Single Coil Cartos in LR (Low Resistance @ ~1.7ohms) specifically for the 808D thread connection. These will perform very well, despite LR coils burning hotter making your liquid usages ever so slightly higher, it will deliver a fairly warm and noticeably enhanced flavor note. I personally love it and can't go back to SR (Std. Resistance). The LR will use a bit of extra juice on your battery also.

The only concern, and it's not that bad if you stick with liquids with a PG content of 70% and above, I personally use 70/30 (Pink Spot Vapors) and have no issues with the tiny pre-punched hole in the carto.

I am going to be trying some 50/50 PG/VG blends in these cartos within the next few months, i'll try and report back.

Pros:
- It works decent
- Decent price
- Low Resistance delivering great vapor experience.

Cons:
- Possible issue with 50/50 VG on tiny pre-punched hole

Your other choice, I believe Smokeless Image is preparing to release an XL carto as well, if this is factual, I would only recommend buying from them. Their QC on their cartos is pretty decent and of 6 packs of cartos, I only had 2 flukes (individual, not box).

Now for tanks. A lot of sites sell the DCT Tanks as a package with a carto and drip-tip, while this sounds like a bargain, it really isn't... Now, while Smoktek sells just the tank tube with end caps on the site I linked you above you, however. They're a bit costly in my opinion. I want to save you money and help anyone as much as I can. So here's my lead on the best price for DCT Smoktek tanks.

Economic: SMOKTech 510 Dual Coil Tank Tube
Baller: Pro DCTank Tube

Yes, ordering from 2 different vendors, 2 different packages. However, if you want to pay $10 for a single tube and end caps, I won't stop ya lol.

Now, you have 2 choices and both choices are priced exactly the same. The 6ml DCT tube and the 3ml DCT tube. You need to ask yourself a few questions when purchasing this. "What do I want out of the tank?" "How often do I change between flavors?" "How streamlined do I want my setup to look?" and "How often do I vape?"

Once you answer those questions, the choice should be quite evident.

From my personal experience; I love the 6ml tank, my favorite juice is Grasshopper from Pink Spot Vapors and of the 12 different PSV flavors I have, this one gets most of the attention. So not having to refill my tank for a few days is great. I personally like the look of the 3ml tanks a bit better, however the amount of liquid the 6ml holds really makes these fat tanks look pretty cool with all the liquid swirling around in there.

Lastly, will also want to get a drip tip. I personally like the drip tip I showed on the tank right now, it just fits the design and lines better. The one to the right on the manual battery is my favorite for comfort, you're not wrapping your lips on such a large diameter, it was also purchased off of the MVS site. The pink drip tip on the far left is what came with my DCTs and I never liked this style of DT because you're forced to have that half cm of drip tip in your mouth, not really my liking, makes the vapor aim more towards the back of your palate, less flavor that way.

These are just the important bases covered about the DCT. The two things I haven't covered is DCT Tank precautions and then punching and slotting your cartomizers. Been writing this for an hour and I just woke up, so maybe i'll come back and fill you in on that stuff later if you're interested.

Actually, as for DCT precautions, here's my detailed experience with DCT tanks:

First time I ever bring the DCT out of the computer room and into the public... Thing starts to gurgle, first thing that comes to mind... Damnit, it's flooded. Yep, it was flooded. Spend about an hour in class cleaning it up and getting profusive leaking everywhere.

Finally get home, plan was to pull out carto, take out as much liquid of the carto as possible and empty tank, was half full, about 3ml.

Go to pull out carto from tank. Bottom cap pops off. 3ml of Pink Spot Vapor Grasshopper. In. My. Hand! I'm raging ...... off now.

Blow out as much liquid into the 30ml bottle, I swear at least 2ml was salvaged out of just the carto...

Pop carto back into the tank and then fill tank up halfway. Instant bubbles, carto is filling back up. Sounds good. Vapes decent so far.

Hopefully I solved the issue for now. ...... that I blew away around 2ml into napkins and then 3ml into the sink. Never had this issue for about a week of using this tank and carto.

Smoke Tech LR Carto and 6ml Tank.

Vaped about 1-2ml so far through the DCT since I posted. Was starting to have a very ever so slight dry atty/wick taste. I did a few dry pulls and saw a few bubbles. Kept doing it just barely enough to see the liquid almost colorize the visible filler material. Vaped and it was better.

To further avoid another repeat of my earlier experience in a couple hours when I leave for school (I haven't slept since my last post, above). I popped the drip tip off, and slid the tank up the carto just enough to vent the tank. Slid the tank back on and saw a very tiny bubble go up. Vaped it and it as just like it was when I first experienced the Smok Tech DCT and carto a few days ago!

Guess these tanks just need to be vented every ml or so, that's what i'll do from no on at least.

Sorry for the long read, but you'll learn a bit, hopefully. For your standard volt batteries, I recommend that you get the 3ml tanks. I can kill all three of my volt batteries within 6 hours, so to have a 6ml tank on there wouldn't justify anything. Plus, what are you to do while you wait for your battery to charge? I think this calls for a couple mins of contact cleaning and re-filling the tank. However, that's just me. :)

P.S. As far as changing flavors go with a tank, it's doable, however you will taste weirdness after a few swaps. I recommend buying at least 2 tanks to hold different flavors and a dedicated carto for each flavor. Gut one or two of your old cartos to turn them into atomizers for testing new flavors before you dedicate a new carto, please use these atties only on a manual battery. 4-5 drops into the atty, no more or it will flood, roll the cartos around to distribute liquid. Keep them horizontal. Then you should have no issue with them leaking.

Okay, I need to stop typing. Hope this helps!
