I've got an eGo-C Upgrade battery setup, with a Vision Ego V3 rebuildable clearomizer and (currently) a 2.4ohm head. I've noticed that as soon as the amount of eliquid in the clearomizer drops to around 0.4mls, I begin to get rather dry hits with very little vapour.

I nearly always need to keep it topped up to around 1ml (when I refill, I fill to 1.6ml) to get the best performance. When it's nearly full, it's the most wonderfully rich vapour possible.

Now it wouldn't be much of a problem, but as it means the clearomizer is never empty, when I need to change the head (every week or so apparently, but in practice it's much less than that) it means I have to waste 0.4mls or so and it goes down the sink drain.

Any fixes/advice?

Simple solution .... quit using clearomizers.

What would you advise to use instead? I don't mind too much about any upfront costs, but I'd like to minimise long-term costs (with the clearomizer, I can just replace the heads, which is a very affordable option). I'd like it to work okay with the existing eGo-C Upgrade batteries, though.

Can you get a syringe in there?

Can you turn it upside down in an e-cig "condom".

I get dry hits at even half full (0.8ml). They are quite bad at wicking generally. There are better ones.

I'm fed up with the clearomizers leaking onto the battery when I knock over my ecig every now and then and it goes upside down. As soon as I do that, I get eliquid on the battery head and in the mouthpiece. Annoying.
