Hi I'm new to posting here, but have been reading and watching videos for a few weeks.

About 2 weeks ago I ordered some KGO Starter kits for me and a few other family members to try to quit smoking. I didn't order Cartomizers with that shipment because I ordered those from another supplier. I order some Boge LR and some regular carts there. Needless to say I think something is going on with that supplier recently, and am not sure if I can post the name of them. They charged my CC but have not sent any shipping notice so far. It's almost 2 weeks.

In the mean time, I have received juices and other set ups methods for vaping. It wasn't my intention to start with fancy set up right away. I was just looking for one method that would be consistently good, so I could get my family to switch from analogs. The prefilled cartridges that came with the starter kit were not good, and from studying I did not think this would be a good method anyway.

One method that I received was a tank with the cartomzer in it. Well one of the tanks was bad and from reading I found out this is a problem with them once in a while, and I got a bad tank and cartomizer inside might be bad too. After filling it with eliquid, the cartomizer would not go back in the upper seal. I tried this cart without the tank and am pretty sure that was faulty too. My daughter and I were coughing and also got liquid in our mouth, even after I made sure the the holes were cleaned out through the center of the cartomizer.
We lost most of the liquid by the time the mess was all done.

So then today I got a clearomizer Vision 2.0-2.2 ohm with another juice order today. Well for some reason, this crackles and give a harsh hit when using it. I am pretty sure this is not suppose to be this way. I have the good ego battery.
I was really hoping that the clearomizer set up would work for less hassle, because then I know my dad would change over, because of it's ease of use. Does anyone know if maybe my battery is not meant for this?

I was hoping to just start with cartomizers and go from there, but the order of items arriving is backwards.

This has caused me to learn how to drip. I actually had some success tonight with that, now I just have to make up my mind to quit the analogs. I know that dripping won't fly with the other people that I ordered these for.

Thanks so much for this forum, it has saved me a lot of money in the long run, I just have to get the best starting set up to make sure all my loved ones really change over too.

Is this what it looks like? I'm not familiar with the brandings of everything in the USA.

2.0 - 2.2 ohms is going to be pretty hot for what I think is a CE2 type clearomiser. I tend to stick around 2.5 ohms with them. You can use a drip tip with these if they use the rubber ring seal, some metal ones wont work with them. It is a pretty tight fit but once you've put one in a few times it will wear the ring to size better. Adding a little extra distance with a drip tip will make it a little cooler for you, and I prefer to use one with my CE2s to avoid any juice or condensation build up getting in my mouth.

What you might want to do is take the inner seals out and cut the seal slots into a /\ shape. Just widen them a little then put it back on. It sounds like they could be underwicking which is a real problem with those types of clearomisers. It's a one time job and from there you just need to tilt your ecig sideways or upside down for a second or two to get juice up to the coil.

Be careful when you take the seal out as it can pull the cup up with it. I'd recommend using something thin and hard but not sharp. Maybe a small philips head screwdriver or a blunt nail file or similar. If you look at the main cup closely you'll see it has a slot at either side. You pull the seal up from there as you can get a deeper grip on it from there.

You can also just remove the seals and put it back on upside down or use the doughnut seal that sits ontop of the bottom seal and just put the doughnut back ontop of the cup. It means you just need to take the doughnut or seal out with something like a toothpick to refill it down the sides. If you do it this way, you don't need to tilt it or turn it upside down for as long as it will wick very quickly.

I have no idea about the tank though, sorry, haven't used one before. Good luck, hope it works out for you!

I found a few good tools for taking out the rubber seals and cap. The top one I found at my local Hardware store. It is a little sharp, so care is needed when using. The other two are part of an oral hygiene kit I bought at the supermarket. IMAG0107.jpg

The crackling noise is normal, and actually a good thing. A new carto will generally crackle/pop/hiss in the beginning. It wil settle down though and stop crackling after a few refills.

Who is the vendor that hasnt shipped? It could just be that they are backed up on orders. I would try calling them today.

Personally I hate the Ce2s. They are finicky and can leak. I would just go with a regualr carto, especially in the beginning so you can learn how to properly use them

Clearomizers are CE2's and may crackle a bit. You may be getting a harsh taste for several reasons. Since you already know how to drip try it with the clearomizer. If you have an unused one take out all of the seals, put it on you battery with no juice. If you have a manual battery press the on button while looking down into the coil till it turns red, let go of the button. If there is no smoke your cartomizer is ready to use. If smoke is coming repeat at 3 or 4 second intervals till no more smoke comes out.

Now with caps still off drop one or two drops of liquid on to the coil. You should be able to see that the coil is moist and there is no liquid in the ceramic cup. If you see liquid take it off the battery and blow out the liquid. Vape a few puffs. After burning you may have to do this a few times to get a good flavor. Vape this way for a while or at least till you have a feel for when the coil is going dry and needs to have more juice added. Now you know what a clearomizer should taste like. Set this one aside and use it for testing different flavors of juice.

You should be able to just fill these and vape. Most of the time they work right out of the box but it's not unusual to get one or two bad ones in box.

I have the visions that your posting about and use them on a 3.7 or 4.2 device. I haven't had the issue you posted about so I'm no help with that unfortunately.

I'd post in the Got Vapes subforum, they are usually pretty helpful there.

My mother has issues with them so I wonder if it could be the juice?

The visions are 'ok'. Best are the boge or 1.7's that I assume you ordered but haven't gotten. Could you cancel your order and get the 1.7 cartos from Hoosier?

Leftfield, why is 2.0-2.2 bad for 3.7volts and a regular 2.0 carto is OK? I there something different about the CE2's a opposed to the other type? I'll have to remember that if I ever try them again.

Thinking more about it, my Visions might be 2.5. I'll go back through my orders and double check. I use clear, all PG or 80pg/20vg juices. My mom uses darker, tobacco juices. Maybe that's an issue too? She hated them, I didn't mind them. But I'm pretty easy when it comes to this stuff.

It's not bad, it's just going to be hotter than 2.5ohm. With the coil so close to your mouth on a CE2 it seems hotter than anything else I've used on the same voltage and ohms. If they don't like 2 - 2.2ohm CE2s for the heat, 2ohm cartos will probably be too hot for them as well I guess though.

CE2s are top coil units with the heating coil about quarter of an inch from the mouthpiece whereas a normal cartomiser you have about an inch and a quarter for the vapour to get to you from its bottom coil so the vapour has time to cool on its way. Other units like the CE3 and CE4 are bottom coil too so they're also going to feel cooler than a CE2 at the same ohms with the same voltage. That's what I've found anyway after using them, YMMV I guess :D

I like 2.5ohm CE2s around 4.5 - 5v so if I was using a KGO I'd probably be using 2.0 - 2.2 ohm CE2s on them. If you don't like the vapour to be that warm, 2.5ohm is usually pretty spot on for 3.7v.

I have tryied the CE2v5, with clear ejuice you can vape more often, with darker juice you have to let it sit between puffs sometimes. With darker juice it taste a little harsh if you don't let it sit enough (depends on manufacturer). Also did she check to see if they where clean?

Thanks everyone for so must great information! This forum has saved me so much money, and answers so many questions. You have to hand it to V2 cigs for getting me interested in this, but never bought them after coming here :)

Vision 3.5ml 2.0-2.2 Ohm Clearomizer that's a link to the clearomzer I have. I was using Johnson creek juice because that was where my first order came from, plus they are only 40 miles away so was hoping to find a good juice from them. I'm not sure about the mixture percentage there. I got this order of juice in two days, where the post office seems to be super slow these last couple weeks. Normally USPS Priority mail makes it in 3 days elsewhere in the US but lately is seems to take 7 days.

I did get some other juices, so will try a different one that is less thick. The ones from evapors are 70 VG and 30 PG. am not sure if these would be better or the samples from Madvapes, I am not sure what the Mad Vapes were mixed at but can go to site and look it up.

After trying to use the clearomizer I watched a few more videos plus I will go to the subforum mentioned. I can go and order some more carts also. I will go to hoosiers and try those carto's also. I have 5 to set up for people and may have to get 3 more set ups yet besides, so extra cartomizers will get used eventually. I just want the people I order these for to give them a fair chance, and am doing all the research for them to get a good user friendly set up.

I will post back later after I try some different things with the Clearomizer. Also will order the higher Ohm's one. Will go read the forum too. I haven't called any suppliers with my questions yet. I don't think I cleaned it properly either to start with.

The next set ups I order may be 1box mod type, and maybe a varible voltage, and then a 510 that is smaller with the case for the ones that don't really smoke much. Just want to get these going good first. I can picture my son with the box type PV, but for now he gets to start with the KGO, and can picture my daughter with the cigarette type looking ones. She's only a social smoker, but at $7 + per pack in this state.. plus the health problems later.

Will be back in a bit, the mail came. Thanks again for all the helpful advise!

If you want a cig lookalike ecig I don't think there's better than the volt, bloog maxx fusion or halo g6. They're kr808d-1 threaded and all the same inside, just a different brander and therefore price.

The 808's are "better" than the 510 because they're regulated to 3.7v instead of 3.2v and the Kr808d-1's I mentioned all have a greater mAh rating (more mAh = more time between charges).

Just a thought if you're wanting cig lookalikes anyway. Good luck!
