I want to try some "fillerless" cartomizers and/or tanks. I will be using these on my SS LT I recently received. I have been doing a ton of reading/watching videos, etc. and have of course read all the good and bad reviews about each I am considering. I tried a smoketech DCT way back (90 days ago or so...) when I first started vaping on my KGO. I was not impressed. I'm just at a point that I want to try something new. I have had good results with Boge cartos and that is what I use all the time, but am in the mood to try some of the fillerless stuff. I vape pretty heavy and am getting tired of constantly topping off the Boges (seriously, I have absolutely no clue how anyone gets a day or even a half a day from a freshly filled boge)

I planned to try a few options and was looking at some of the offerings at GotVapes like the ViVi Nova, Vision Stone, Fluxomizers and Stardusts.

My main questions are:
1. Do I need an adapter to use some of the tanks or clearomizers (eg, stardust) on my LT? If I understand correctly, I belive I need a 510 to EGO adapter? Right?

2. Any other "fillerless" units out there that you would recommend?

3. Which resitance (ohms) should I use? I know that the LT has some built in limitations/regulator, so should I stick to the higher resistance? What is too Low? I notice that a lot of the stuff I am interested in trying out are lower than the 3.0 SR. I don't turn the LT way up and hang in the range of 4.0 to 5.0, with 4.0-4.2 being the most common for the sweeter/fruity type of juices I prefer.

That is all I can think of right now. Thanks to any and all for some help, suggestions, comments, questions at to "what the heck I am thinking... " LOL  will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Jme... this is my experience with my KGO and now my lavatube. The stardusts suck on the KGO,, but put one on your lavatube and dial it down to about 3.2 and it's pretty awesome.. and yes, you need a 510 to Ego adapter. I also use tanks on my lavatube, but single coil cartos seem to work better for me. I have all kinds of different cartos,, from 2.0 up to 4.0 and I haven't figured out yet what I like best. I also just got a Vivi Nova tank from Gotvapes.. I was really happy with that at first, but the flavor seems to have disappeared so I might have to do some fiddling with that.. (hate that!). I'm also going to try the phoenix from gotvapes. Take a look at gotvapes.. I've had really good luck with them, and they have a lot of stuff that will work on your lavatube. Oh yeah, and you want standard resistance and higher ohms for the LT.

Thanks for the reply, luvinit! I was also looking at the Phoenix too, just forgot to add them to the list of "ones I wanna try". Gotvapes seems to have a pretty good selection for the type of fillerless stuff I am looking to try. I have never ordered from them before, I just noticed they have several different styles that I was looking at trying out. Having read all the good and bad (which I now understand that YMMV with EVERYTHING ecig related... LOL ) I feel at least "a little educated and forewarned" before venturing into this next step/stage... whatever you want to call it. I don't want to just waste a lot of $ either, but now that I have settled in a little at 3 months, my expenses have gone way down (compared to the first month getting started costs...) so I am in a place where I can feel a little more comfortable and "try stuff out" without having to worry that I may mess up one of my last attys, cartos... you know...

I am confused though about your comment on the stardusts on the KGO... I guess my question is: why would they suck on the KGO (at 3.7) but dialed down to 3.2 on the LT they are good? If you could or would explain that would be great. Do the stardusts "perform" better at lower volts? Are you talking about SR stardusts on the KGO? LOL!!!! So many questions...

I really appreciate your comments and help. :)

PS-- I was really, really (REALLY... lol) hoping that the ViVi Nova was going to be awesome. It probably will be after a few revisions... i hope... it sure has a nice look to it IMO.

About the stardusts.. I didn't know this but you can get them in LR or SR.. everyone says for the KGO you should get the SR. I'm not sure which ones I have, but at 3.7 on the KGO the flavor is really muted. Really REALLY muted. But on the LT at a lower voltage they're pretty great. One thing I'll say about them,, they don't leak! I've never had one leak, so that's a good thing. I've ordered from Gotvapes several times and had really good luck,,, well, good shipping. I've tried almost all the clearos with not very good luck. I haven't given up on that Vivi yet,, there's a couple of small modifications people are doing to them that I might be able to handle so will try them. It's a great design though,, and that thing doesn't leak either.

The phoenix from gotvapes seems to have some really good reviews.. certainly not as many unhappy campers with those. They might be worth a shot.

Madvapes also has a decent selection of stuff. And in my last order they included a little card which tells you which types of cartos are recommended for the battery you have. The card says for 5 volts you should use 2.5-3.2ohms in a single coil, or 2ohms in a double coil. At 6 volts it's 3.2-4.5ohms (single coil) or 2.5ohms (double coil). It also says for a 510 battery dual coils are not recommended. I've already found that I prefer single coils on my KGO... (hey! something I figured out for myself!!) I've been told not to use double coils on the lavatube because of the regulator in them,, will only let the voltage go up to a certain point no matter what voltage you dial it up to.

I've got several DCTs.. and they seem to perform better on the lavatube at higher voltages. The cartos that come in them are usually dual coil though so I don't crank the voltage up too much on those.

I'm still pretty new at this stuff too.. it's very confusing!! And it's a whole ton of trial and error. I ordered a bunch of cartos and stuff in the beginning (fear of running out of anything!) and didn't mark on them whether they were single or double coil... then I clean cartos and have NO idea what they are.. but can't bring myself to throw anything out until it's really dead. I use my KGOs to carry to work and out and about and I like 1.7ohm single coil cartos for those. Then I use the bigger stuff,, the DCTs on my lavatube at home. So my plan is to just buy single coil cartos from now on... 1.7s for use on the KGO and higher ohms for the lavatube..

Ohh,,, one other thing about the stardusts.. you'll notice the wicks are at the top so you have to tip it to keep the wick wet. Gotvapes has the new edition which has wicks that hang all the way to the bottom of the tank,, those might be worth a try. Just be careful about ordering the colored ones.. I ordered a pretty purple one and when I got it,, it wasn't a stardust at all.. it looked like one but the tank was full of white puffy filler.. if I'd known that, I never would have ordered that!

All that being said... wait a bit for any revisions on the vivi.. I think it could be a great thing, it just has a couple issues to iron out. Personally,, I'm going to order some phoenixes today,, if you order some of those, be sure to watch the video on how to fill them,, apparently it's pretty important to fill according to their directions. Good luck and happy to help:)

Thank you again... I think I will hold off on the ViVi for now. Going to order some stardusts and give the Phoenix a go!

I figured out, for me, the best vape on the KGO's was using the Boge 2.0. I bought some of the 1.7 "resurectors" and I really did not think they were that great... IDK. With the KGO's I do not notice a lot of differences, but am loving the LT. I was amazed and very pleased that with even a slight raise in the volts (4.0-4.5) compared to the KGO (at 3.7) really made a big difference in the taste of the juice. I'm not sure any of my juices would handle anything over 5.0... I did experiment a little turning it up over 5.0 the first few days, but found I like it a lot better around 4.2 or so.

And darn it about the colored stardusts...filler?!? I was eyeballing the pink/purple and green stardusts for my SS LT. I was thinking it would look good... and maybe a little more "girly" (although I don't know why, because typically I am far from being a girly girl...LOL! :p)

Thanks again. Take care and I hope you have a great weekend!
