Hi PapaJoe, in an unregulated battery the voltage at the atomizer depletes over time until the battery needs recharged. A regulated battery places a buck/boost regulator or something similar between the battery and atomizer such that the battery at the atomizer stays constant until the battery needs recharged.

There are advantages to both.

Ms. BtittanyNI you are correct, v4l only sells unregulated batts. Bloog, Smokeless Image, and the like are the regulated kr808's that come in at 3.6v. Just like egos and 510's are regulated to 3.2v... It's also why the batts have a higher mah rating, because they don't have to use high drain chemistry batts on regulated batts. The voltage can drop quickly on the batt itself without anyone being the wiser....

I've been using the xlCE2s, got them from MadVapes but I can't recomend them (the cartos, Madvapes rocks). They are really touchy. When they work they are fan-freaking-tastic, but they are real touchy about what battery they like, and they break catastrophically. I have yet to make it to refill three on one. I have had two lock themselves onto a battery, and then the tube comes loose, dumping the juice, and then I needed freaking pliers to get the guts off my battery, twice. Smoketech 2.0ohm ftw.

I've only tried the Xls, so I can't comment on that specific clearomizer...but be careful (pocket + auto battery + work = fried battery. manual battery + carefully set on desk = sticky mess) the clear plastic housing really likes to come loose, I've heard many people have had that problem...which I've never had with a metal carto.
