Yes, definitely try different sizes to see what works best for you. Personally, I do well with the short wicks. I am using a Vivi Nova V2 with the short wicks. When the level of juice starts getting low I do tip occasionally but I have never had any trouble with dry hits or anything like that. I also tend to tip my PV up as I vape, so the juice naturally hits the wick for me.

I had some CE2 clearomizers with the long wicks and I had to keep tipping those also because it seemed the wick wasn't really taking the juice to the coil fast enough. It could just be my vaping style too. I tend to chain vape and take long drags.

So, you will probably need to experiment and see what works best for you.

Maybe they will come out with a V-3.1 with shorter long wicks

Frankly, I haven't figured out if the wick length makes any difference. I've got both kinds. Some of the short wick versions work fine, and others don't. Likewise, some of the long wick versions work well and others don't.

I think the quality control on these is horrible, and that's where the variations come from. If I could find some that worked well consistently, I wouldn't care how long or how short the wicks were. Tipping the short wick ones is no problem for me.

Another good point here- If you get the version with the longer wicks and find that it is not working for you, it is very easy to mod it and shorten the wick.

Unfortunately you can't go the other way though, at least not with the same wick. I have read in a few places about some people replacing the existing wick with cotton. I may try it this week just for fun.
