I have 3 types clearos I have been using, not happy with any of them today.
PT mini 2... ok, so works ok.. I replaced the silica with cotton, but I hate the mega airy draw it gives. Can you use the airflow control base on a mini?
The EVOD tank..first 2 were great, so I bought 4 more. Replaced all with cotton wicks. Not too big, not to small. They are all flooding and have a super tight draw, mouth juice. Can't figure it out! Is VG too heavy for these tanks?, I have 50-50% juices.

Iclear16's that came with my ITaste VV3's... seem to work fine, but not getting much flavor and I just hate cleaning them ;( Also, not sure I love the dual top coils which give a much warmer vapor. I think I prefer a cooler vape. On the fence on that. Depends on the juice...

Ughhh... finding the perfect clearo is no easy task so far. Now I am looking at the Aspire Ego BDC's dual bottom coils.. but the heads are said to be inconsistent, and much more $ that the PT heads.

Any suggestions would be welcome. Ready to drink my jooses.8-o

You don't say what you are using these clearos on. It might help us help you.

I got rid of my ProTanks. I now use carto tanks mostly. But I also use and like the Aspire BDC Vivi Nova tanks. I like them too.

Each of these systems have their benefits and quirks to learn how to deal with.

Good luck

I find the Aspire Nautilus tank to be really, really good. It's listed as a dual bottom coil clearo, but it's really a hybrid with short wicks going to a polyfil material around the outside of the coil like a carto. Always wicks perfect for me. And it has excellent air flow control. Really nice vape with good adjustability of air flow to get a vape tailored to your liking. They are normally 34.95 to 39.95, but right now there is a sale for 24.99 here:

Aspire Nautilus Bottom Dual Coil Pyrex Tank

All the major reviews are giving great reviews. Needless to say, I love them.

BTW, try turning down your iTaste VV to 7 to 8 watts. I have that same mod and find anything above that wattage gives me dry nasty vapes.

I find the iClear 16s one of the easiest clearos to clean. What I do is take off the tip and unattach the base and remove the rubber grommet on top of the coil. I rinse everything under warm water and massage the wicks to get out all of the flavor. Then I just press the wicks dry between some paper towels, clean out the threadings and attach the coil and base to my PV and do a light dry burn at a low voltage. They burn clean pretty easily. I actually find the iClear one of the best vapes for me in terms of TH and smoothness but it certainly lacks a bit of flavor. But I only use menthol in those anyways. I really liked the Vapeonly BCC mini but I don't see many people talk about them here.

Clearos drove me crazy as well. To the point where I went back to smoking a few months until the protank came out. That didn't work out so well either, with the glue melting and inhaling it. Long story short...The Russian (kayfun clone) worked great for a while, but I got tired of the maintenance.

I finally pulled my Igo-W out of the drawer. Ooooooooh gerd, dripping seems like suuuuuch a hassle. Well, besides having to re-drip at red lights, I absolutely love it. So much easier to yank off the top and clean the coils. Vape until it's fairly dry (4-5 drags) and it CAN'T leak. Etc etc. I did have to drill out the air holes though. Accidentally went one size bigger than I wanted and hated the airy draw at first. I got a Captivape drip tip which tightened up the draw just a little and I love love love it now.

With that said, if you're having tank issues, get a few cheap drippers as a back up (or one of the good ones with air flow control if you have the $). You might actually find it's not as much of a pain as you thought. I have a Russian and a kayfun mini that are collecting dust, if that says anything. Although I do want to set one of em up for car use...eventually.

That's my story for today, thanks for letting me share. :)
