I'd never heard of the Dominus Fecit mod before I saw the clone. To be honest, there isn't a lot of information out there. A website, a Facebook page, 20 or so YouTube reviews, and a handful of threads here on ECF.

I saw the clone, looked up everything I could on the original, determined that it has the absolute best side fire design I've ever seen on a mod, and purchased a clone to give it a try. The clone has all the bells and whistles- Lorde edition switch upgrade, Hilt battery tube upgrade, V1 engravings, and 1:1 compatability with every authentic part.

I also ordered the naval brass upgrade kit from Dominus which cost something close to 4 times as much as the entire clone, but half as much as it would cost to get an authentic with the same upgrades that are on the clone.

Am I stealing from the creator of the mod by not purchasing the authentic? No. And here's why. I would have never known it existed had it not been for the clone.
