I'm not tellin'
I must say that I did not sign it and this is why. If we all remember back to the law suit the reason the FDA was unable to gain control over the e-cig industry is because the companies were able to prove that they were not marketed as nicotine replacement devices. If we sign this it shows the government that we indeed consider this an alternative to smoking thus making it a nicotine replacement device. If apples = apples and oranges = oranges this means the FDA will have a stronger foothold for implementing it's control over the e-cig market. The Petition says it is to promote jobs in this market. However, this job promotion may not be at the level we expect it to be i.e. FDA regulatory commissions and such. As I am always skeptical of the government I will not be signing this because it seems we are doing just fine as it is. I sincerely doubt that this is meant to promote small business growth in the e-cig "market" as There are no restrictions stopping someone from creating devices and juice as we see by the multitude of vendors already in the market. I fear that this is a government attempt to give the FDA more to stand on to take the control of the industry thus creating more "federal" jobs in the form of lab techs and government regulated distribution which is something we all do not want. It stops our freedom to order from who we want and create our own juices as well.
This is all speculation of course and I may be completely off the mark but in my experience if it seems too good to be true...
I will abstain and see where the chips fall.
Do we even know who sponsored this petition?
Just my 2cents

OK que the people who are going to tell me how wrong I am lol:laugh:

Honestly B. I am a very happy vaper right now lol. And I am digging what all I can do with it. Just afraid of that changing lol. I can't stand change cause nine times out of ten there's a motive behind it. I sure hope I am wrong this time though. I would love to see more "open" support for vapers. I'm just wary which is why I can't bring myself to sign

I did sign last week, but what bothers me about this petition website is that they only promise to give a response. Doesn't mean that they're going to agree with you, and we're putting them in a position where they have to make a stand on one side or the other, so I feel almost as if this will just push them to stop the industry sooner than if we'd waited for the damn politicians to do it by baby steps instead.

I don't know if any of you looked through the other petitions, but over 60,000 signatures were on one to make ......... legal. How the heck do they manage to get 60,000 when we can't even get 5,000? *sigh*

I ought to know that by now, I work in restaurants lol (almost every single employee of every restaurant uses this stuff, more than likely when you go out your server does). They all also know what a pv is too, they get a kick out of me using mine, and all want to try it. I always get a comment when I go with them when they go smoke about how I don't need to go outside, and I'm like yeah, but I want to get out of that place too! Plus, I do slip in the bathroom every chance I get, so I get to take a break more often than they do! :p

Me and Mrscasey signed awhile ago. 160 to go at present. I agree with you Bianca. The last thing we want is a ban on ecigs or Nicotine Liquid. Hopefully if we speak out now and in force we can have a voice in the way ecigs are regulated, because they will be regulated. We just have to take it one step at a time and fight each battle as it comes. But we are definitely going to need every ecig user or friend or relative of someone who has been helped by ecigs, to stand up and be counted. Keyzygirl - Excellent point. If we are unsure we should check with CASAA before backing something.
