I don't know why you're under the impression that a (hybrid) mech should ramp up faster and 'hit harder' than a regulated mod - I think you might have been listening to some cloudzbro types...

Theoretically, they can. It reduces two surfaces to oxidize, so it's just another thing that can tweak. Personally though, I think it adds too much risk, and lowers the configurable option too much.

The materials used on topper pins and regulated 510s don't seem to oxidise that much, though, and any residual tarnishing seems to be dealt with by the mechanical action of screwing toppers on/off.
