Hello All:

I'm experiencing vaper's tongue on an intermittent basis. I've been doing all the tricks and they help somewhat in the short term. Steaming my sinuses seems to help the most along with water and frequent tongue cleaning. Part of it might be because it's not been that long. However, I think a big part of it might be because my main e-juice is clove based. I know that clove oil is used in homeopathic remedies for tooth pain as it has an anesthesia effect. I am wondering if the same thing happens to the tongue/sinus passages/nose with the e-juice. It almost feels numb at times. I don't recall this happening with clove cigarettes but it's been years since I had a real Djarim Black clove. The new ones are hardly comparable. Has anyone experienced this? Not being able to taste is my biggest trigger for wanting a cigarette. The same thing happens when I drink as well but it's not as much of a trigger.

If the cloves juice you're using has enough clove flavoring in it to numb your tongue and you're not making it yourself which would be easy to control, then I would order the juice in higher nic mgs than you do now and cut it with either PG or VG to dilute the amount of flavoring. You can just do it by "taste" or use one of the many excellent calculators to control the dilution.

Welcome to ECF! When I first started vaping, clove e-juice was my first vaping juice. In my experience, that is one of the flavors that helped me overcome "vaper's tongue", because I switched to a tobacco-flavored juice rather soon after I started (switched up once again, too). The tobacco flavor became really muted, and when that situation arose, I would take a few vapes of the clove juice, and all would be well again. If you're using clove as your "all day vape", I'd suggest getting another juice to sort of counteract the loss of flavor. Maybe something like cinnamon (if you have a glass clearo) or a menthol. You don't have to vape it for very long. Just a few vapes every now and then, and then you should be able to more fully taste the clove juice. This is just my own personal experience though. It can be different for everyone. Hope that helps.

Thanks for all the feedback. Right now it is 50/50 Aroma clove and vanilla . Unfortunately I have to keep using it as its the only WTA I have available and going without is definitely not an option. I should be getting my shipment tomorrow. My fault for thinking I had more than I did.
WTA is the only thing that keeps the crippling depression at bay. I will just have to tough out the no taste for now

Thanks for the suggestion jademoth. Update:

I stopped using the clove period. I got a tongue scraper, started drinking water like crazy, and started cleaning out my sinuses with Simply Saline each morning. I also upgraded two of my tanks to Mini Nautilus. I noticed on the second day that I was starting to be able to taste different vapes slightly. By the third day I had full flavor! So much better!
