For the sliding lid, you could easily recess 2 magnets (or 1 magnet and a piece of metal). Put one in the lid and one in the "box" so that the lid could slide easily both directions but would stay put a little better? Maybe not as elegant as other options but certainly easy and can be retro fit onto current units.
Funny you should say that i sent Clyde a note earlier tonight with the same idea.wood is funny swells with humidity and shrinks when its dry. This is just a prototype so there is sure to be some tweaks. Thanks for your input MastiffMike I welcome it

Wow....amazing. Love the video ! Love the vapor !

What type of adapter are you using that you can just pop in a 901 or 801 atty ?

Also....i think the 901 atty gave out almost as much vapor as the low resistance 510 one did ! Amazing.

Oh..another question . Any problem at all with flooding in this one ?

Ok...are you going to sell a few of these ?

If so, im so interested :)

Thank you WhatAClumsyGirl This model has a standard 801 atty attachment.I am using standard adapters. This works well on this mod because i have the brass fitting on the top of the mod witch catches any liquid that may spill out from over pumping.I find when using the 510 or the 901 I don't have much liquid in the brass chamber I am use to it i am sure for some it would take a day or so to get use to running it with adapters.I can flood the 801 fairly easy if running at 3.7 volts.I rarely flood it if i am running the 510 or the 901 with the adapters. This MOd as you probably no is just a test model Clyde is doing a review and he has run into a couple of problems one being the door on his is loose.I built these in my little shop next to my indoor green house and its humid so these are some of the things i have to address.also i beleive only certain 510 attys run right some 510s seem to not alow enough juice into the atty.I am rambling on eventually i do plan to sell some of these mods I still have to work some bugs out.I am not a supplier so even talking price ect is out of the ? I am a firm believer in running a mod hard befor you sell them. Thanks again

Look for Highping's really basic juice mod.

Clumsy
I Love it when you are around. Life seems lots more fun.

Reo
Wood is alive and not very forgiving.
If a split arrears in a beautiful MOD. there is not a damn thing on this planet you
can do about it.
Clydes' mod door could have been too tight not slack, ITS WOOD it does what it wants.

Ok
REO
You are an utter git.
Been able to get hold or cherry.
I hate you.
Cherry in the UK is about the same price as walnut (Bloody Expensive).
I do have about 3 square meters of walnut bur vaneer for a desk I'm looking at making.
But I cost me an arm and a leg.
I do hate the fact that you guy in the states, can get wonderful timbers for pennies and I
have to pay a fortune.

I'm now throwing all my toys of the my cot..
It's not fare
It's not fare
It's not fare..................

Git............

OK your not a "Git".
But you live in git land.

Peter you guys chopped all your trees down.Well they dont give the cherry away believe me.I had to go to a small specialty lumber yard to find cherry larger then three quarter. Ruff lumber is all they have so i got a piece of five quarter by six by lets say five foot long for $16 American.I couldnt believe how heavy it was dam.Oak is light compared to this stuff even my drill press didn't like cutting the first hole.A git i have friends from the uk never had that one used on me.I have to look that one up or ask if its not in the dictionary.I am sure i have been called worse. If it wasn't so heavy i would send you a log.Try tossing yourself in the dirt it works better then tossing your toys and when your all calm and back to yourself you still have the toys.

Red..are you busy with the woodwork ? How many different types of wood are you using now ?

I love wood....my house is full of old antique wood things...I have an old red oak hutch that was my grandmothers that is absolutely beautiful. I also have an old Sellers ( hoosier type) kitchen cabinet with the flour and sugar bin in it..if you know what im talking about.

Just checking in with you to see how the woodworking is going. Hope you are doing well !

Hugs from Clumsy

In the land of no hills and red dirt
Hopefully so. But I guess it's better to get approved in advance than to have perfected a model, get it ready for sale, and not be able to tell the world about it.

BTW, (and I feel comfortable discussing this because this mod is not for sale yet), a new model cherry reo is on the way, with a couple of modifications that is supposed to have alleviated the flooding problem with the 801 at 3.7v.
